To be fair, Batman had his turn with the last three Nolan films, plus four Burton/Schumacher films. Add to that the fact that another solo Superman film seems to be very much up in the air at this point, it's only natural for Superman fans to feel like he's getting a bit shafted.

That was a totally different Batman. They need to make space for the entire justice league, and they aren't very good at striking the right balance. Marvel has it figured out, but DC can't seem to get the right balance.

MOS:

-Bearded Clark Kent

-Suit in full black, including the black cape

BVS:

Batman has many different facial expressions, but Supes doesn't.

True, it's about Batman, but why are there kryptonite, Doomsday, Zod's corpse, henchmen from another planet, and Lex Luthor in the trailor?

Despite MoS obviously being a Superman film, I think HT would have made a Faora before they would have made a Clark Kent or black suited Superman figure. And they didn't even do that.

I think it's because people were so divided on the film that they weren't sure how sales were going to go, so it was safe to just make the main basic characters. Right from the start, you figure the ones that are going to be purchasing a Superman figure, especially when it's a brand new film with a new take featuring a newcomer that nobody knows relatively anything about, are going to generally be Superman fans. Even Superman himself seems to be a character where you either like him, or you don't. From there, you divide that in half, being that MoS essentially divided Superman fans in half; you either liked it, or you didn't. The ones that didn't would most likely have no interest in purchasing the MoS figure, let alone Jor-El or Zod (both of whom SSC still has in stock).

If demand and sales proved to be extremely high, at least for Superman, where the figure was easily selling out from the start, I think you may have seen at least another figure or two from MoS.

What to me is another testament that DC didn't, and doesn't have it figured out, is the scene in MoS where Supes took Zod up into space in an attempt to get the fight away from innocent bystanders and they ended up destroying the satellite with the Wayne Enterprises logo on it. The WE logo on the satellite was the logo from TDK trilogy. That tells me that they were intending, or at least weren't sure, whether or not they were going to tie the MoS universe in with TDK universe. Then also after it was announced Aquaman was joining this new universe, then it was suddenly claimed that there was also an Aquaman easter egg in MoS, during the scene where Clark was floating underwater after falling off of the oil rig. The "easter egg" was apparently Aquaman had summoned the whales that happened to be floating by and was somehow keeping Clark alive by allowing him to breathe underwater. Something along the lines.

Regardless, it just seems like something they were grasping for straws with by trying to claim that something was an "easter egg" when I firmly believe that it wasn't initially intended to be that at all and something they just made up after the fact.

1 6 Henry Cavill Superman Modern Life Head RARE Batman Hot Toys Custom Marvel Po | eBay

Rare head sculpt of BVS Cavill in Ebay?? I'm not buying the head alone. Someone else might want this, just in case.

That's just Toria Cassaro's new Superman head. She's auctioning them off now instead of selling them to anyone that wants one.
It doesn't have that much of a likeness. I bought the first one, and thought that looked good.
But that one was only $50 unpainted. These are now considerably more expensive.
And considering that TA and Monkey Depot will have the BVS ones for $50 each, i'd just ignore the new Modern Life one.

This new Superman is fantastic. Definitely superior to the first. Just hope it's not humongo sized like the last one. Still would like to see a light up portrait. Maybe there will be a DX offered with a second head and maybe a black costume or something. Probably my most anticipated HT line of the year since Marvel will be mostly updates aside from Black Panther, and Star Wars will just keep clicking along. Also curious to see if HT produces Suicide Squad and X-Men figs.

I believe it will be about the same height. I know the specs for the MoS figure stated that it is 31 cm tall. Someone earlier in this thread posted the specs for this figure, and they stated that this figure is approximately 31.5 cm tall. So I presume that means the two are approximately the same height.

Makes a lot of sense.

It's kinda hard to explain why I feel this way. I didn't like MOS, like, at all, but I appreciate the fact that Henry is still coming back as Superman, and that the suit actually LOOKS BETTER than the MOS version (in my opinion), so Cavill's Supes needs to get just as much spotlight for merchandises. Too many attention was being paid to Batman whereas Superman is a total icon of superheroes.

Still, if Affleck's Batman becomes instantly popular after the movie's release and gets the most praises, then it's irrelevant that Supes need to get the same treatment. Who would want the same actor of Batman to continue the series while Superman (both character, and actor) is being changed/rebooted if Cavill's Superman isn't on par with Affleck's Batman?

See what I mean?

That's a beautiful head sculpt. Do you own that? Those glasses look so real!

the cost of head is way too much. If that was cost of the first run Cavil sculpt you've pictured, I would buy it.

I like to work with the assumption that my fellow posters are not HIGH when they do their posting, but if folks persist in saying things like "I can't believe how bad the MOS sculpt is" and/or how "it looks nothing like Cavill", I may have to rethink that position.

I mean, come on! Just because you like the new does not require trashing of the old. The MOS figure remains on of HT all time best efforts. I'm hoping the BvS sculpt gets tweaked because it looks rather squashed and constipated to me, but I do like that they've gone for a clear expression over neutral.

Yeah. I have three of them in my parts box. Also, the glasses are commercially available. Or at least they used to be. And they have actual lenses in them. See pics below of them on various figures.

The primary problem with their first one is that they announced it maybe six months out, and the wait seemed like forever. I liked the sculpt, but it was only available unpainted. I had to spend quite a lot of money to have the three heads panted and by the time that was done, the HT figure was out...

That's a pretty spiffy-looking Clark, Username. :duff

Thanks. Doing alternate looks was the main reason i bought to many headsculpts that i ended up not needing.

The head sulpt is almost perfect IMHO. I'm so tempted to complain ab the lack of another sculpt with heat vision eyes and curl bt I'm still hoping for some kind of exclusive later. Surely they won't miss out on doing one. It's what everybody wants

That will be their Sideshow Exclusive for the armored Batman. That way they'll make sure people buy both.:lol

What gets me is Snyder said this could be considered a MOS sequel... With more Batman than Superman in it.

I have a feeling everyone but Batman will be dumbed down from now on.

On contrary, i think that Supes (and to the extend) the other characters have the privilege in this new movie universe instead. Supes got his own 2 hours solo film about his origin (despite you like it, or not of their approach on grounded and realism of this sci-fi superhero) while the new Batman needs his background stories and origin to be CRAMPED in a 2 hours and so movie with Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Doomsday, Aquaman or whatnot. The next solo movie will be WW which will exclusively told her stories all alone, Batman solo movie haven't been announced officially since the last interview on Total Film, they're still developing the script and even Affleck haven't said a yes on the director's chair and the official date hasn't been announce either.

I think people just read too much on this and respond in a freaking way and assume to fast on everything. Superman is fine, he will always be there. He is the first and the most iconic superheroes in the world, even Bats has a lot of fans nowadays, but Superman will always be there.

On the brightside, I'm being grateful if they only produce one Supes, that makes me only need to buy one, but damn i want an extra heat vision head.
I believe Hot Toys acknowledge this demand, and will milk us for another release.

I wonder if HT will ever make a Lois Lane figure. I would like to see Amy Adams shrunk down.
