I have to say out of all the HT Star Wars figures, this was my least anticipated. But in hand it's a realy stunning piece, I can't stop staring at it.

:lol

I've just spent so much time hating on this figure because I just don't see the likeness at all ("I thought Alec Guiness played Obi-Wan in ANH", etc...), and silently rejoicing that there's at least ONE figure from the massive HT ANH release that I can perform an easy pass on, and I've just watched the ClipperKing's video and it looks drop dead awesome!

Fookin' 'ell.....

I 'ate the ClipperKing wiff all me 'eart...

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Didn't think I wanted it, now I kinda do. It will be last though. These couple months have been ek$pen$ive. SS Luke and TIE will bounce him even further, but there is a spot for him in the collection.

Someone else said this already, but I really like that with Kenobi you only need one version of the character. Don't need Kenobi in his Hoth suit, in his pilot suit, with his Jedi hair cut, etc. Characters like him, Chewbacca, 3PO, and R2 are really great for that reason.

:rotfl yea, he looks really good in the ClipperKing video. The funny thing is I am not sure why I watched it because I have Ben right here on my shelf. :lol

Anyway, I think videos can sometimes give you better idea about what it looks like than still photography and I can tell you that Clipper's video is a pretty good representation of what it really looks like- except it still looks better in person. I absolutely love the HT Kenobi and haven't had a second thought about getting rid of my SS one.

I either have, or have pre-ordered everything in the Hot Toys OT line except Darth Vader (not counting Stormtrooper variants like space or sand ect). And right now I am kind of in the same boat with Vader that you are with Kenobi. I have the SS Vader, and I thought that was good enough, but something about the HT helmet is making me want it despite the stupid gloves....
:gah:

Got mine today. Stunning! At first I had complaints about the likeness too. But in-hand, I don't know, it just looks so much better.

I like how Kenobi is using the force in that picture^^^ to make it so he and Chewie can walk up the side of the wall :wink1:

You're nah bludy 'elpin'..!

Bought this from a local shop today. Was waiting to get during a certain annual sale in a few weeks but that place is all sold out already.

I think he turned out great and the likeness is pretty strong in hand. Only problem is my light up saber is snapped in half. The store is going to try and get me a replacement.

When I got into the HT world it was because of the Marvel-related releases; I had no intention of going down any other path but Star Wars is a film I can say changed the course of my life. I remember seeing the trailer in the theater and being totally blown away by the characters and effects; I was a science fiction fan before that but Star Wars put me in a different mindset. With the recent and upcoming HT release of the classic characters I'm already going down that path by ordering Obi-Wan (thanks to a push by ClipperKing); I don't need the characters in every outfit but I think I owe it to myself and my memories to see them on my shelves in some form.

How many members saw Star Wars in the theater in 1977; yes I'm showing my age?

My dad took me when I was 3 years old in 1977. My brother was 7 and my Dad says we complained the whole time and wanted to leave the theatre! LOL Who would have thought we both would become huge Star Wars fans and collecting for years after that fateful day. Seen all of them in the theatre on release day since the beginning and I am following that tradition with my kids. Of course I've got my tickets for opening night but I'll be taking the kids that weekend.
