Sideshow didn't start their business yesterday.

Oh, I completely understand price elasticity.

But if you only think you have "X" amount of customers for something and therefore need to price it at $240 to justify its production... That still doesn't mean that item is actually "worth" $240. Especially given similar, higher-quality items on the market at lower prices (ie Hot Toys Boba Fett).

Sideshow is playing a risky game this way. Eventually, that "X" amount of customers they are banking on willing to pay $240 for this bare-bones Maul will wise up and just wait for a superior version from a different company.

Isn't this how artificial bubbles are created? Eventually the rising prices of this hobby are going to break. I've personally been a lurker on the board since 2007 and a member since 2013, I've been buying Hot Toys figures since 2007 and I have to say that the quality sideshow puts out can't compare, not saying hot toys hasn't put out some plastic crap, because they have. I know that most of us are in this for fun and the investment aspect is not what we think of, but eventually these are going to be priced so high it's going to ruin the market and push some people out of the hobby.

Maul looks awesome, but I'll wait til he's released for a deal. He needs his cloak and hood... HT would have included it and a stand for cheaper.
