They pick you, you do it, provide proof (photo/video) and you win. It's actually one of the easiest ways to win something if you are willing.

Facebook sucks. No idea why that seems to be the preferred platform for scc. Miss the days when staff rolled in over to chat and stuff. Cool to hang with them.

Because now it would be flooded with GIEF MAH PLEZ! and I doubt they want more of that, Periscope and FB get WAAAY more of that anyways now. Plus, gotta cater to everyone jumping social networks every month

I have Facebook because most of my family and friends are hundreds to thousands of miles from me. I sorta use Twitter for actual world news, but the rest is a waste of time, IMO. I'm not joining to beg for free stuff.

Because there are millions of concurrent daily visitors and over a billion registered users. Half of whom don't even know that Facebook is accessed via the internet or that there is anything else to the internet.

Something can both suck and be popular at the same time. It's why every PC company was able to do any business.

Most of the stuff people do isn't exactly embarrassing... or humiliating. It's generally stuff in good fun. I haven't seen anyone get #SideshowSpooktacular tattoo'd onto their head, or have to run naked through a mall... Plus, people say what they'll do upfront, if it was too bad for them, I imagine they wouldn't do it.
