That collector bull is yet another reason why BBTS sucks balls. Any other toy store would take the same care and consideration for a collectible figure without charging extra for it.

Prodigy please, I know you're a full on hater but give bbts some credit where it's due. No other site does this with your figure like bbts does And they inspect the box before they do this.

So I just finished re-watching Cell saga and noticed this is the effects Cell received and was based on.

@blood, I'm not hating just to hate but it's just BBTS isn't all it's cracked up to be. There's plenty of other good online retailers that are cheaper, ship faster (and for free), and also care about the integrity of the collectible. BBTS charges retail or markup for starters. I know the collector thing is a "premium" service and not required to purchase but other stores extend the same courtesy for free (obviously without the fancy plastic).

I've ordered from them 3 times before and twice the boxes came in terrible shape. I'm talking bent corners, crushed panels, and all in a so-so packing. I've never received a figure as in bad condition as I have from them. Maybe that's just my experience and people are free to order from where they want but there's usually better and cheaper options than BBTS.

BBTS really doesn't do much mark up, unless distribution isn't that great and they have no other choice. I've ordered a few times, and my stuff came in great shape, never once had an issue. I think you had a one time issue. They're better than say, nippon since you don't get charged a head of time, they're not shady, and so on, and they don't give you BS. I have had only problems with when they get in figures, like Zero and Gohan from earlier this year.

They do mark up exclusives though. I always feel bad for the MOtU fan that forgets to sub or can't afford it, then gets stuck with BBTs's double to triple mark up. Same goes for Marvel and Star Wars. Hell, they had the TRU exclusive Sheild set that retailed for $59.99 at $129.99. Thats insane. Plus shipping? However, with Figuarts, I'll gladley pay extra knowing I'm getting a legit figure and not bootleg.

Wow. I've never heard of them before but those are some killer prices.
Started browsing and found this:

I posted the link to Midtown Comics because a) they are having a great sale, and b) I've bought from them many times and they are a really great place to buy from. They tend to have sales like this a lot. I've saved some money in the past getting stuff from them on some expensive stuff.

Yeah that's the type of crap I'm talking about. I don't buy DBZ stuff from them (or anything really) but that's not really what gets marked up. It's just in general they're not exactly the cheapest place and they have scalperish tendencies. At the end of the day to each their own but for me PERSONALLY, there's cheaper and better elsewhere.

I've been to their locations in NYC and they've got pretty good prices and decent selection. This sale is amazing though, I wish there were SDCC Goku's posted up like Hot Topic had a few weeks back.

We all have our preferences but I've always had great experiences with BigBadToyStore.com. They standardize their prices with MSRP, have no-charge pre-orders (and have had them for years), and their shipping has always been solid and comparable to other retailers to me. If you pay attention, BBTS also has frequent "Clearance" Sales as well.

Say what you will, but all the other prized vendors also mark-up on Exclusives and even older releases. I've seen SDCC Namek Goku over $100+ at sites like MHToyShop and ToyzintheBox.com. Everyone also seems to ignore the fact that ToyzintheBox.com also has figures like Broly for $130 and Android 18 for $85. Some of you guys would have heart-attacks if you went to some of the conventions and seen the mark-up's on Figuarts and other DBZ merchandise over there.

Yes, there are cheaper alternatives, but it doesn't mean that as time goes by and those shops grow that they might start marking-up closer to MSRP to pay for their operating costs. MHToyShop has recently changed their policies to include a 20% non-refundable deposit with their pre-orders when they never had this before. Sellings items at retail isn't a reason why a vendor should be vilified. I do agree that their "collector" upgrade price stuff is a little ridiculous, but they keep offering it so people must keep using it. On top of that, BBTS is arguably the biggest "online" collectible toy store in the U.S., they offer a little bit of everything in comparison to everyone else and unfortunately with that growth comes a little harm in their warehouse quality, but that's the same with any vendor. Even if someone else grows, they might very well run into the same issues.

Anyways, on another note...anyone else get a notice from Amazon that RoF SSGSS Goku and Golden Frieza have a delivery date of JANURY 5, 2016?!?! My guess is that is the new "safe" date they slapped on the items since they're getting shifty delivery timeframes from Bluefin.

Which effect do y'all think works best for the SSGSS aura? The blue flame or the blue energy one that is up for preorder?

Hence, distribution. That's what I meant. Sometimes their prices weren't too bad, like when I bought a few D-Arts Pokemon figures off there.

And with the bootlegs, that's one of the reasons why I'm so hesitant with eBay and them, really with most Japanese figures.

So, some of the posts say BBTS purchases come with the brown shipper box and some say they don't. What is the final verdict?

Depends if Bluefin includes it for the American release. For Ultimate Gohan, most likely not.

For all the ones I bought they did come with a brown shipper. Though apparently Ultimate Gohan doesn't have one from most U.S. Retailers,
