Mind sharing the sales numbers you have for Superman?

Seeing how exclusive is still available ,was coupon eligible, and all the dislikes he received on board, then I kinda assume sales were bad. Duh! Mind sharing why you think sales were great then besides giving a smart alleck reply young man?

That is one thing holding them back. The mediocre bodies.

Honest to god the batman body was great, but just had a few really really dumb corners cut. I had a loose elbow in mine and took it apart to try to fix it. The pin that holds the elbow together is hollow, has maybe 1mm thick walls and is split down the middle. If it was just solid plastic, or better yet metal, it would have been amazing. Sideshows problem is they try to cheap out and it ends up biting them in the ass.

:lol

Means nothing. Their site is littered with Hot Toys that are still available, discounted, double reward points and coupons, yet are still pumped out.

I don't know what SS is doing when it comes to their 1/6 figures. Wolverine was shown a year ago and teased before that. The figure looked worse this year and it still isn't ready for PO. Even if it went up tomorrow it wouldn't be out by the end of the year.

If it takes 2+ years for a figure, you probably shouldn't announce it that soon. Just makes them seem plain unreliable.

Hot Toys teased that Arkham City Joker how many years ago now? :lol

HT is just as guilty of this torturous practice.

I have to agree, the body SS has been using for DC supes and bats are well made. The body they're using on gotham knight/blue & grey bats would look good on an Arkham asylum version. I'm really hoping SS is going to do an AA one without the rubber suit since the body size really fits that look.

Perhaps SS and hot toys are teaming up for joker (asylum/city)? probably would explain the delay, but that's just a guess. :lol

I've got a bad feeling about the DC line going forward. Anytime I hear a Sideshow rep say, "We're re-evaluating our approach forward on the line..." I get nervous.

I think LotR, GI Joe, The Dead...:horror

Good news to be had for Marvel fans though. Right out the gate, Deadpool received about 8k orders. So they are pushing to make sure he comes out right. What was on display was a factory production/proof figure (not production line figure) and it should start full on production in a few months. Might make it out in time for the new year.

That's what makes the absence of batman even more puzzling for me though. He's supposed to come out in September right? He should already be in production.

I have the SSC Batman and Joker figures – I love both of them, and have no problems with either. Their costuming and design are top-notch, so it's not like i'm just trying to be negative... I was actually really looking forward to the rest of the figures to come out – but who on earth gave the Superman figure and the GL figure the 'green light' for production?
Seriously SSC - the head size on Superman is noticeable a mile away – and GL has so many flaw's it's ridiculous... but even more ridiculous is that both could have been simply put right. The excuse for GL was artistic interpretation? Really? I can see that the Marvel characters have been artistically interpreted in their previews (pretty well in most cases too I think) but the GL was just the standard GL only with terrible material used for his uniform, and boots that look stupidly big! Add to that poor accessories and an inflated price!
If the DC line is dead, it's because SSC killed it – poor sales are down to them!

Could not have said it better myself. I have joker, Catwoman, Harley, Bats, and Superman also. If the DC line is dead, then superman was the beginning of the end and Green Lantern will be the one to officially kill it. If they would have done a better job tweaking supes head and did a comic version green Lantern similar to the one DC direct did, then there would be no speculating if the DC line is dead or not.

They chose to let Lantern keep that horrible textured suit, big white 70's boots, and high price even though a majority of members dislikes it. The big girls was price. I did a poll asking if you would buy green Lantern at retail price and about 70% said no. My poll thread was quickly ended and not by me.

It's so frustrating – change the material, sort out the boots and price same as the Batman figure and i'd buy the GL... so simple!
I think the customers/fans have shown that they want classic comic accurate DC figures.
As it is, IF it comes out, i'll try and get the head and hands/gloves from somewhere and bash my own figure!

:goodpost: epic fail SSC... epic fail

I would buy gl also if priced the same as bats and fix the boots and suit texture. It would be an easy buy for me. But as is and price, have to pass till heavily discounted or pick him up cheap on eBay.

Glad we agree on something :lol I am in the same boat. Next years Spook if this thing is 30-35% off with $30 back in reward points and free shipping I will jump on it. Would come out to be around $124 after RPs.

As far as the Gotham Knight goes I think I want to buy it and then get another SSC Joker and put these two in a detolf. The SSC Joker, to me, is SSC best figure and is really one of my favorites now, would love to grab one or even two more. I already have the first SSC Batman and a SSC Joker, but those are displayed with my other Batman Villains (Scarecrow, Croc, Penguin, Two Face).

I have been collecting SSC 1/6 figures since 2004. I have seen SSC shoot themselves in the foot before. They did do this to themselves on the DC line. Too expensive of a product for crapy bodies and "artistic" designs, that the fans do not want. I mean, really, GL looks like he is in some Broadway musical with that suit. The head on Superman is too big. Harley and Catwoman have bodies that disintegrate just standing in a museum pose. SSC acts like they just started doing 1/6 figures. Look at Star ACE and the Harry Potter series. Way better than what SSC is doing. I have lost faith in SSC. They need new management and start listening to the fans.

I dig the blue Batman and this and the Joker. That's it. However I like the weird/artistic takeson Bats. That said it would have been safer/smarter to go less exploratory with these.

I hope they keep the line but maybe take a break, go back to the drawing board and regroup.

No hard feelings. I to am buying this bats. I have all other figures in the line. I love the long ears. I Preordered bats with 20.00 off coupon. Later looking back green Lantern will be the reason if the DC line is dead. It's like ssc wasn't even trying anymore on DC line since all the success with the marvel movies. Maybe that will change when superman vs batman comes out and it does well.

I've seen a lot of negative comments from Marvel fans towards the SSC figure previews... mostly towards Woverine (which I think looks great).
I don't think it's that Marvel movies are popular meaning they're more popular – it's purely down to poor DC figures and the price hike, and like i've said, the sad thing is that the problems are small and could easily have been put right - but SSC don't seem to want to listen to their customers feedback... especially when it's constructive!

I'll be sad if this line dies too. Gotham Bats looks awesome and the Joker was really well done. To me, Superman is where they started dropping the ball. He's old looking, to thin and the head is too big. What happened there?

Superman is actually a pretty darn nice figure, I love mine. Of course, there's a difference between having it in-hand and looking at pictures taken by people who couldn't pose or photograph a figure to save their lives.

Be careful though, guys...you don't want this thread to get shut down for being "too negative". Keep the sunshine and rainbows within arms' reach.
