This thing is such a disappointment. After waiting with such anticipation for the reveal, this is what we get.
I gave it some time to see if it would grow on me, but I've looked at the pics a number of times and as much as I want to like this, I just can't. Whilst the likeness is incredible, as is the tailoring, the whole thing just looks like a mannequin. Definitely not the statue I was hoping for.
Whilst Sideshow's statue also has its problems, I still like it better than this. It's much more interesting to look at. Just a shame they couldn't nail the likeness.

Yeah when scales go above 1/3 that is what they tend to look like.
According to most people in both the Batman and Ledger PF thread they did, you are the first person that I know of other than me that thinks the likeness sucks on the Sideshow statue.

The likeness on the SSC statue is garbage.
Darkavatar, you'll probably agree with me here given that we've shared an Adam sculpt before, but the Prime 1 likeness is amazing yet, typical of Adam's stuff, completely lifeless. There's no personality anywhere in it, and given how damn tired he seemed to have gotten of sculpting Ledger by the time he started charging astronomical amounts for his stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if he just did this one out of muscle memory without putting any heart into it.
I do find it funny, however, that years after getting crucified for daring to criticize BobbyC's 1/6 efforts, the tables have turned and people finally see what I saw out of his stuff. His 1:1 and 1:3 stuff was brilliant, but working with the materials he did at 1/6 was a recipe for failure.

I really like this...I too thought the expression was a little empty when I first saw it, but damn if the likeness isnt perfect..the clothing and all that are spot on, and if this is around $1300 it should be an easy purchase and probably the best DK ledger statue we'll see, especially given what SS just put out. I dont mind their Bale PF at all, but their ledger to me is totally lacking in the likeness and even the proto facepaint doesnt look good. Imagine the final product? This I know will at least look similar.

If this thing less than $1100, I will be purchasing it. I need that pinpoint ledger likeness in my life. The only way I will purchase a sideshow dark knight joker is if someone gave it to me for free.
It does look similar to the DX11 I had, though I think the paint may have been better on the HT. Harder to get the likeness right the larger they get.

I notice a lot of people flocking to this thread are the same guys who purchased the MRM joker headsculpts. I purchased a few myself as well (before he went berzerk)
BTW was there anyone who never got their money back from him? I remember a bunch of people grouped together and got a few admins to contact him after he ran away from the forum. What happened after that??

Yeah I do agree cr0w but our Adam sculpt has a bit more personallity, as I can see a slight smirk. The expression on this statue is completely blank. However, the likeness is so amazing that it doesn't bother me as much as it bothers others.

I think it's because of the expression, people get confused with likeness of the actor and likeness of the character. Since the sculpt is pulling the same Joker expression Ledger is makes in the movies, this confuses people to thinking the likeness is great, because the expression is exactly the same.
I was the first one to say that, I said sideshow made a DX11 statue.
Same here, it's good to see that people are now posting that they dislike the sideshow sculpt because I thought I was in the minority.
