Im reserving final judgement for in hand HK photos. Once we actually see what those look like, we will know what we are truly in for. The new photos of Han put my concerns about him to rest. As for Chewie, well, I was content with the proto. It wasnt perfect but it was close enough. And I dont mean it barely passed. I think it was a great attempt at a difficult figure. Now, the monstrosity that is apparently at SDCC is an entirely different beast. The muzzle protrudes way too far. The side of the head can likely be tamed with futtzing but the muzzle is the problem for me. The Falcon cockpit photos show off exactly the issue. Look at any photo of Chewie and his muzzle is maybe half of that size. I know that the fur is likely poofing up, but it makes me wonder why they didnt make the mouth thinner to allow for the fur volume to fill out the look.

Im just hoping that once he is in hand that something can be done to tame his head. I agree completely that the body is spot on.

Agree that body is there too. For me the eyes are too close together and appear small

seriously just putting lukes head on a stormie is an exclusive?

You can't honestly be surprised, right? This is HT we are talking about...the writing was on the wall with the Stormtrooper 2 pack announcement. If Ht cared about fans, they would have included a luke/han head with that set for the $400 asking price

Well, that's pretty much the exclusive trend lately. Either a few new accessories or a new paint job. Some manufacturers will even go as low as only offering a specific packaging (yes, i'm looking at you Hasbro).

I was looking so very forward to this figure until the SDCC pics. We all know that futzing is a part of this hobby, but one really shouldn't have to buy a bottle of Mane n Tail just to get one's Chewbacca figure looking decent.

well if the sculpt does turn out bad I will just have to a try and fix. or b use the custom one I made years ago. to have that perfect version of chewie

I wonder if soaking the head in water, styling it and letting it dry would help with the "poofiness"? But then why didn't HT do that for their display? I can't get my head around how a company could take a highly anticipated figure to one of the biggest events of the year and have it look that way... without try to futz it?

I also agree with a few posts back... the top lip really needs a cleft in the center (like a dog).

HT is easing us in to disappointment!!

BD Robocop, Chewbacca and Returns Batman are already on my list to purchase. SDCC did not add another!!!

One thing is for sure....when these arrive in our hands and our images start populating this board....our Chewbacca's will all look different!!

Oh my god Looks like I'll be asking for a refund

If this is what i unbox it's going straight back to sideshow, the proto was at least workable this is a disaster.

Actually i may not it does looks somewhat salvageable, what needs to happen is mustache darken and top of head. I wish the eyes were 1/16"further apart but i guess i can live with it.

It's also one of the most popular Star Wars variants. Not sure why anyone would be surprised it's being made.
