I used to get damaged items all the time, so I always pack out now. But for the Luke Hoth, it didn't arrive packed out. And of course, the outer box looked damaged. I was a bit upset, and set it down near my basement door to open later. The next day, I went into the basement, and accidentally kicked the box down the stairs. It tumbled over and over and over, denting over corner. I thought for sure it was going to be horribly mangled. But to my shock, it was perfectly mint inside! I couldn't believe it!!! I got lucky that time... But I still prefer pack outs...

I just had my Groot and Rocket set delivered yesterday and there was a small hunk taken out of the box. The UPS driver told me to check it to make sure everything is okay. It was. The mailman a few years ago brought to the door a package that wouldn't fit in our mailbox. He said it rattled and sounded broken so he waited till I opened it but everything was fine. I don't get damaged packaging very often, but if it's something very noticeable, my delivery guys usually have me check it if I'm home at the time of delivery. I hate when they leave boxes outside my one door though. It's too wide open for everyone to see.

I learned my lesson last year when I almost maxed out a card and could only pay it off with this year's taxes. From now on I'm not getting anything I can't pay in cash.

I never have them leave packages outside my door anymore just because of people who steal them like in this news story. I will go pick them up.

Ups won't leave the SS boxes. It must be sign in person no exceptions. I beg them to leave the box and they will not no matter what I did.

Hm wonder if there is a minimum paid for an item that they determine in which you must sign for the package. I've had to sign for all my Hot Toys from Sideshow except for the Bruce Banner that I got for 20% off, which was left at my doorstep.

We don't have one. I live in the boonies. Rarely do they leave a box, but they have. Depends on the driver but usually they're great about things.

Anything over $185 according to SS site must be signed for. If you have a UPS My Choice account you can be notified when a package is arriving and you have the option to authorize a package release without signing for it.

That didn't work in the case of my recent Rocket & Groot delivery. I authorized them to leave it via the app but they didn't ...
