Sideshow sorry to say, but it's important for you to know that I, and many collectors of this line are extremely disappointed. Many replacements, many paintings with problems, many cracks, missing teeth and I can keep going. Sideshow! I can even consider myself one of the most ardent fans of this line, and you know why? Because in less than three years, I've managed to gather all your dinosaurs all over the world, and believe me with a lot of money. When I pay $ 600 for this statue only to receive exclusive T-rex, and to receive in Europe, I can say that I am extremely passionate fan of this line. I understand that your profit is important, but what about us? In this way you will lose many customers

I'm hoping that there are no problems. But it seems like Its very likely that there might be one. In reply to the one who just posted the pictures of the Tyrant statue.. It also looks like your statue is missing its tongue ??... Or is that the roof of its mouth ? Hard to tell. I got my first ever Sideshow statue today, which is the mosasaur. I'm very happy with it. I'll make sure to post some pictures of the Tyrant statue when it arrives.

Yea that's the upper jaw so you can't see the tongue. Tongue's safe, check! Phew got a bit worried there as well!

Hope you get a flawless tyrant king statue mate, even though the chances are slim. We can hope. I don't know why Sideshow won't improve on it's QC department, you stun all these potential customers with your prototypes and then fail to deliver on the final piece, it feels like they're scamming their customers into fascination, prompting them to part with big money on supposedly awesome statues, and then dropping the ball big time. It ain't right.

On the plus side, no import tax on this one for me (strange cos I was expecting it, but I'm not complaining if that means more money saved), but I really really expected more from this piece.

PS: Are the teeth supposed to be blunt? Cos mine sure look blunt, even my sis who was helping me with the pictures mentioned it as well.

The teeth are slightly blunt. I think that it may be due to safety issues.

Thanks, I'm hoping so too. & I agree. I'm also curious to why you didn't get an #/1000 or #/2000 on the base. Was this your first Tyrant king statue or is this a replacement ? ...I'm sure the replacements did not have a number under them. That's the only reason I can think of.

It was not a replacement, which makes me wonder if they swapped the base my original was supposed to come with with a replacement, either during qc inspection or maybe because they had to use my original base for some other purpose. Either way it doesn't bother me very much, so as long as the base is fine which seems to be the case.

Only SS can answer that one.

Possibly different team making the T-rex (ie not as good) or maybe not stringent enough QC.

I have the earlier release Spinosaurus and it's perfect, didn't hear about any disasters with that statue. Granted the replacement T-rex I received is also fine.

I don't know about the state of the other Dinosauria statues as I only have two.

I think it's because they changed the production factory starting from T-Rex. Because the former factory produced illegal extra samples to the market without SS's permission.

Man, with all the horror stories being posted, you guys/gals are scaring the **** out of me! I'm still waiting for my Rex to arrive through my local vendor, but very nervously indeed.

Talk about Sideshow's marketing strategy going horribly wrong!!!!!???? You figure that a company would safeguard the quality of their dinosaur line to coincide with the potentially biggest dino movie release in more than a decade. Who the **** is running the show at SS???????? I can't believe that a company of Sideshow's size & influence cannot have manufacturers safeguard the quality of their products!!!!!?????? Seems like the chinese producers keep ******** on Sideshow, & in turn Sideshow ****s on us, the collector-clients. Totally un****ing believable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????

This was Sideshow's golden chance to redeem & save this potentially wonderful line, but instead have managed to scare off even the most diehard fans!!!!!???? Talk about the end of days, .............& reason.

Also, less of an issue, but my base doesn't have an ES number. Every SS piece I've gotten had one, so I don't understand why this one doesn't. Ironic that this is the only SS piece I own that's procured directly from the SS website.

Well, SSC still has a chance to redeem themselves with this line with the upcoming Trike statue,

but if they screw the QC on that one as well, then I think SSC will lose not only newer fans, but also loyal, dedicated fans of the line.

That looks like the base of the Ex piece (half eaten corpse). They don't come with their own unique number, only on the T-rex base.

I think it's the main base, although I'm not entirely sure since I wasn't the one taking the photos. But judging from size alone, pretty sure it's the main one. I wouldn't think the half eaten corpse base would be that big? Could be mistaken though.

Hello dear friends. Dyscrasia, you are absolutely right. If Triceratops going to be a total disaster then many old fans and new fans will think twice when they buy these statues extremely expensive. The price of these statues has grown tremendously in the last 2 years.It got to cost a statue, with many defects, $ 390 .... it is normal?????????????????WTF?????? I think not!!! Folks you who live in the US, why the hell not call Sideshow or consumer protection and make a complaint ????It is inadmissible! We who live in Europe ... it is harder to do this

PS: Timo, I regret deeply that you give up this line Honestly, the person responsible, to check the quality of this statues from the line, he would need to pay compensation to all clients and lose the job immediately!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know who checks through these statues. And frankly I can understand how checking through 3000 (maybe more) T-Rex statues might become rather mind-numbing after awhile, but that's no excuse for the poor QC. I wished SS would care a bit more about this sort of thing.

I've sent them an email requesting for a replacement Rex, seeing as to how it's missing some teeth and with poor paint application. Hoping for the best, but not expecting much tbh.

I checked mine again and the main T-rex base has a number, but the Ex base doesn't. The base for the Ex is pretty big.

SSC should just go back to making a few Jurassic Park pieces...a T-Rex with one of the Ford Explorers would have a nice place in my collection.
