I hear you, but damn if the black Panther isn't going to be one of the best movies to come out of Marvel. It has so much potential. It's my most anticipated movie out side of Avengers infinity war

It's mine too. I really hope Marvel gets T'Challa and his world correct. He was the first black superhero I ever discovered, and I have been obsessed with him since I saw him on the old Fantastic Four cartoon.

They should have made Sue in FF black like they did Johnny. Would have been an easy change.

Given how much hate Fox has gotten for making Johnny black, there'd be a ton of flak if they made Sue black too. I grew up with a blonde Sue and Johnny in the comics/cartoons, so that's the image I have in my mind. But if you give me a good FF movie with a good plot and good actors, I don't care if they're Caucasian or not. I think the mixed race siblings angle works well in a modern setting, and it can potentially really tie into the family aspect of the FF. That said, I have little hope the new movie will actually be good (funnily enough, Johnny is the only casting I like).

Wait, wasn't this a Civil War thread? Um... I'm gonna miss short hair Black Widow, but at least her hair isn't just straight and flat like in TWS.

I haven't paid that much attention to the FF movie other than the trailer before AoU; assuming they have decided to make one of them an adopted sibling (I think Sue?)... I get the importance of role models you can see yourself in, but I've never been concerned with the race or colour of heroes I have looked up to... big Star Trek fan and in past I have looked up to Sulu and Sisko as positive role models.

Loving the new longer hair... can't wait to see what her costume is like, maybe when this film roles round I will be able to spring for a Black Widow as I am pushing my limit with AoU reserving Vision and the 45 as my last 2... hope the Russo's keep the stun batons and give them more screen time.

Love that the long hair is back. Wonder if the curls are more for the funeral, though, and if her hair will be wavy or straight normally.

I think her suit will look similar to the ones before it, I doubt it will change too much. Will be happy without the blue on it, though. I'll probably ending up getting CW Widow.

Motuxmen
But if they need to do some bs like Empire or need some generic hood thugs they can always find black actors. Regardless of how you may feel representation matters. And it ends up matter a hell of a lot more when you don't get any.

God, I just had to reply to this with how much I HATE Empire's depiction of black people, and it seems like no one I talk to gets what I'm trying to say!

Representing blacks as being able to hold positions of power in industry? Great! But of course, they still have to be depicted as ghetto. I'm white, but I grew up in an all-black area, and it bugs the hell out of me that they're all depicted as thugs even on a show like that. Makes me nauseous to watch it.

Back to the regularly-scheduled programming...

I like the new BW hair, but seriously, they need to come up with some consistency. Right now it looks like she's got some serious insecurity with her hair - long, short, long straight, back to short, back to long - it's like she's got a personality disorder or something.

Well, there is precedent. :) "Some believe, based on your service both for and against this country, you should be put into a mental institution." (possibly a slight misquote)

I like to think of it as Marvel still trying to figure out what to do with the character, and her hair is a manifestation of their own insecurities.

I only need 1 Widow, and I think I will stick with the AOU version. I am most interested in seeing how Bucky looks. I didn't pick up the WS version so after Black Panther he's my most anticipated from this line.

definitely getting that falcon.... it's still a bit disappointing that caps uniform is so close to the AoU design, I was hoping for something new.

Well, they were right when they said that Crossbones would be very Army of Two-ish. I think it looks pretty cool. So does Falcon and will definitely be getting figures of Crossbones, Falcon, and Cap. Wonder what Nat's new duds are like.
