I had hoped the original crew played a central role in this first one...(kind of their and our last hurrah)...then pass the torch to the new guys in Ep.8.

From what i'm told TFA is a set up for the new trilogy, Han will have a huge part in this film which is the quest for Luke and Ep8 will have Luke leading the new cast. This film is all about setting the scene, introducing new characters and telling how and where the old characters are.

I'm really not feeling the new cast...but the new girl looks kind of cute :monkey5

Better looking than Carrie Fisher. I just hope this film doesn't become Hunger Games in space.

She's going to teach a whole new generation of nerds about lus-, er, love. ;)

i know right :drool

Well that feel like a Star wars movie but with more modern camera work.
Should be very cool i think.
The prequels were really a wasted opportunity.
Thank good that hack Lucas is no more behind the wheel.

I wonder how he feels by the huge welcome these trailers are getting, he must know everyone is glad he is not behind the wheel

the Star Wars story to continue on in this timeline that takes place many many years after the downfall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi. Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie will help to make the bridge methinks…which, IMO is just perfect.

Only The Empire hasn't fallen or has had one hell of a resurgence. I'm already crushing hard on Daisy Ridley. She the lightsaber being handed off, I'm assuming Luke is talking to her for some reason. I'm game.

Yeah this, so this!! Thanks for starting it all George but it needed new direction badly at this stage. I hope Disney give us the unaltered originals on Blu ray also, I can't stand the added scenes Lucas forced on us, he even ruined the best scene in the Trilogy where Vader finally turns again at the end of ROTJ by adding not one "No", but two... Arrrrrgh.

I found this trailer super dull. I'm very surprised. Watched the whole live thing which was fun. The trailer left me cold though. Solo and young Chewie were the only memorable shot.

Hmmmm...no shots or sign of Gwendoline Christie or Lupita Nyong'o. That means that either A: Their characters aren't really integral to the film at all or B: That their characters are some little surprises for filmgoers...
