So far I like the Campaign mode on Revelations 2.

I absolutely hate what they have done with RAID mode.

Raid was/is very addictive on Rev 1, I've clocked up some 800+ hours on it, even this afternoon I spent a few hours wracking up some Wanted Kills for the current Event.

All they had to do on the follow up is lay down the same format, specifically the RAID game screen. I don't like that they have turned that into a load room, which I suspect in the long run is going to make online game play somewhat slow and tedious.

Parts: I liked the ease which parts could be switched on your favourite weapons on the original. Now however you'd have to destroy the part to free up a precious gun slot, or worse destroy your weapon. Now levelling up this might not be too bad, but once you reach the max level, and your just playing for events (etc), this is going to be really frustrating as you would no longer switch out say Burst 2/3/Full or Giant Rabbit Foot/Damage 6 (etc).

Maps: I still don't get why they have put in Res 6 maps. There wasn't anything wrong with the standard approach of 3 tire Chasm/Trench/Abyss on the Campaign maps. Then if they wanted to put extra's such as Res 2/3/4 that would have been great.

Deploy: Continuing on from the above, the deployment stage, where you select your map such as Daily Missions, yadda yadda just seems unnecessarily convoluted.

To me they just couldn't let go of the infernal Mercenaries which I have always hated and thought they would combine it with RAID mode, annoyingly for me that includes the stupid techno music too. Oh joy.

Foes: I don't like how the zombies are so generic. I personally quite like the oozes, yes while not exciting, at lest Rev 1 had a team of enemies which where fun to go up against, especially Ghost Norman on the Ghost Ship. Scagdeads and Rachel Oozes, good foes..

Now though, they just seem watered down R6 ironically lifeless adversaries which have a strange death sound "AH!", ripped from some retro 8 bit arcade game.
- This could be down to budget, but I do think it's a shame that they are so dull.

While it's only just launched, I have to say in terms of RAID mode I'm really disappointed and indeed frustrated on why they choose to change so much on this follow up, moreover why they elected to take a lot from arguably the worse part of the franchise - 6.

I'm sure others may well enjoy it, but I don't see myself putting in 800 hours on this like I did with it's predecessor; which while full of bugs and not perfect did happen to have a ridiculously addictive online mode which I know CAPCOM have seriously compromised. :thwak

Worst AI ever!!! :lol Moira... Worst than Sheva. I wish I can mute her. Useless.... Why Crapcom... Why...?!

So far it's okay... Nothing exciting. Enemies are meh... Story so far... Not much has happened. Graphics are decent but looks like some cheap, rushed, DLC game or something. Btw, this new "claire" sucks.. Well the voice actress. Yuck...

I like the Campaign more then I like Raid. As you say nothing much has happened, but then it's only EP 1.
- I agree though, for me the biggest issue is the enemies; more then the AI. It's just so arcade, and I think that makes them look worse :slap

Every Raid Mode Character:

Spoiler Spoiler:

Extra Game Mode:

Spoiler Spoiler:

I was wondering wtf happened during those 6 months, this explains a lot

The two available costumes for Claire and Moira are ugly, they look like they are about to make a porno :lol and again they give us new characters that no one cares about.

BTW They literally took Claire's ORC model and replaced the old head with new ugly head, why couldn't they do that with Leon? super lazy but at least I'd be glad to see the RPD outfit again

Thats pretty much what I expected out of Raid Mode character selection after seeing the trailer for ep 2 but its definitely disappointing.

I would take Tofu over most of that ****.

Ha, I said the very same thing the other day.

That said, Res 2 Redux is apparently going to get made following the success of the 1st; so hopefully that will mean they will also bring back the Hunk / Tofu Modes too.

I'd like to have seen Ada, but given how most of the Characters have turned out, it's probably for the best :lol :slap

The whole game, is an opportunity lost. Sure they may have been on a budget, but a little more time, care and some well needed feed back with regard to the over all and 'features' could have stopped what is clearly a lacklustre follow up to a game that at the very lest had captured a tiny bit of the Res games of old.

Again, I hate what they turned Raid mode into. Tofu could have been a pleasant unexpected revive, but still even with the soy anti hero it's beyond reprieve. :(

You can see this for the last ten years of the franchise. The only thing they've put out that's even good (to a disgustingly degree) is the constant repacked ports of RE4.

Yeah I hear that. I think what made it worse was that the first seamed to be step in the right direction.
- I do feel that they can't put out a Res 2 or 3 any more as a major release. Redux's aside, it needed to evolve, but the choice they made trying to achieve this are, yes I'd go with you and say disgusting.

I think Rev 1 with more puzzles, careful management and a better budget could, at the very least been a solid attempt to pull the series kicking and screaming back from the blink. Instead they have truly taken the proverbial and pushed out a game that currently doesn't even support online game play, has some of the worst 'enemies' (I can't all them anything else, as they are so shocking poo(r)) I've seen and a Raid mode that just isn't Raid mode.

Revelations could have been a platform to create a mini series in which to build up to a major release (7, or call it what you will).
- Instead they cut corners and rushed to finish a game a lot of people (myself included) could have waited another year for.

I think it's time they just let someone else have a go, by all means redux some of the classics, like Res 2, but enough is enough they clearly don't care about it and can't see how angry long time players of the series (despite their meagre claims about taking onboard feedback) have become with regard to it's shocking decline into just bargain basement, trash-tv-esque entertainment. :gah:

I think the new raid mode is one of the only strong points of this game, I love it (I never really liked the original raid mode :dunno)

Might download the first episode today anyone know how long it is ?

If you are actually going to buy this do yourself a favor and play on "survival" which is the hard difficulty, it took me almost 2 hours. The invisible enemy mode is fun too

I'll be honest. I want an RE4 port to some portable system, I don't understand why. It's on everything but the original Xbox, there's a phone/iPad version for god's sake! It's not like it would be too hard to port...

Everything else about the series, pretty much something dead. Revelations I have yet to buy, but it might be the only good game since 4.

Episode 2 was really fun. They are stepping in the right direction so far. It's not classic but it's a hell of a lot better than six.
