I admit, I usually keep the brown shippers too, but most of them I just flatten out and stack them in a pile.

I don't want to discourage you or anything like that. Cap's my favorite hero (even though I'm a proud Canadian) and I liked his suit from the movie. The suit itself is nice in its details and accuracy. I still like the figure and he's out on display right now beside my computer
I just wanted to point out that the issues with mine so people can make informed decisions on whether to buy. I don't regret getting him as I said before, but if you're expecting the figure in the prototype pictures you'll be disappointed.I really really hope AoU Cap is much improved..

Now that, sir, is a genius move. But I might as well just keep the boxes in the shippers to protect them anyways...
I agree, I buy to collect and display, but should anything happen it is always best to have all the accessories, including the shipper. I'm a completionist in that manner.
I have to have the original box but if it has no shipper that's not a dealbreaker for me as long as the figure is mint. The box is going in the closet anyway but with no shipper Ill wrap it to protect it. MISB collectors I understand if the figs are displayable(like 6 in action figures) but I don't understand keeping Hot Toys sealed in shippers and stored. They're not really worth anything(even the "rare" ones are usually only worth under $1000 if a buyer can be found) and less so now that HT has gone overboard with production numbers.

I'm the same way. I keep both the box and brown shipper. After I take the figure out I put all unused accessories back in the box and tape up the shipper. I've got all my boxes stored away in tubs.

I keep everything including the brown shipper and plastic bag. I'm only missing a couple of shippers and those were figures I got from HK or Japan where shippers aren't used so much. The shippers do drive my wife nuts though. They've overtaken a storage closet. 
All my Brown shippers I guess you call it are flattened and stored away in another area of my home. IMO it creates too much space in my house. No need. Besides those are the boxes that have been rattling around in the UPS truck with all the other packages they deliver from all parts of the U.S. and other countries.
Who knows what has touched that box in all it's travels. I can honestly say all imported brown shipper packages I get from HK or Asia to the USA. They are immediately flattened and sometimes thrown away or recycled depending the damage. I don't feel comfortable at all leaving them in my room or house. They were on a boat for god's sake..do you blame me. Especially when they are inspected from a plane trip at customs..NO WAY! Who knows what the customs looks like

I'm not really..but c'mon Asia to the USA on a boat or plane. That's pretty much a no brainer
Yeah, but they aren't in the hold of a fishing junk populated by chickens, cracked ebola vials and fish heads. They are packed six to a case, several hundred cases in a sealed cargo container...
As for the shipper storage debate, i take all my HT parts out and put them in a Really Useful box(Names for each figure to keep the parts together), then put the box back in the shipper and put it on a shelf in the storeroom at work. I seldom need the boxes, but they are there if i want them.
I got a stack of parts for this set in the mail today from Monkey Depot.
Some of the parts were Steve heads to upgrade my bootlegs.
So, here are some pics. More than one figure has a bootleg head. And more than one figure has an official HT Steve head.
Can you guess which are "real" and which are bootlegs?

It *was* a hefty cost. Over $600 on one order, but i really wanted those parts and blew a fair chunk of this month's budget, which i was saving for the Cap parts.
You can look at it as a lot of money, or as possibly $1000 worth of parts if you sold them in a year or two separately on Ebay(Which i won't as Cap is my main display, both official figures and customs).

I keep my shippers break em down and put them with the figure boxes inside my 89 Batmobile box. I plan to keep all my figs but I will NEVER sell my 89 Batmobile, so I threw out all the stuffing in the box. My 89 box my toy chest lol.
