Acrylic is not glued together. They used an re-activator between two pieces of acrylic and it will join as one piece. It's not the type of join that is going to break (not cleanly anyway). I can't imagine any force that could break that base during shipping without causing major damage to the figure as well.

On mine, the 2 cubes were not glued onto the base. So the base was a separate piece. On the base, I could see very slight glue marks showing the alignment of where the cube would be positioned. So after seeing some photos, I just made sure the cubes was positioned properly before I set the statue on. I rested the base near the table ledge so that I could access the screw hole with a screwdriver to secure the underneath of the foot for her standing leg. After positioning the squatting leg on top of the middle of the upper cube, I tightened the screw to lock her down in place. The cubes are heavy enough to not slide around anyways. Once the screw is fastened securely, she is pretty much secure. Just don't over-tighten the screw. My base and cubes were in a plastic bag and were not scuffed up in any way. Maybe my base and cubes fell apart during transport. Hence why they were not glued together in one piece.

The more I look at her, the more I think she looks better than my Hot Toys Winter Soldier version of Black Widow. Because her hair is sculpted in the perfect position, it is different than the futzing of the Hot Toys version as her hair can get messed up because of the individual strands of hair. This Gentle Giant version of ScarJo Black Widow is just simply gorgeous.

So that makes at least three of us with blocks that weren't attached to the base. I'll be calling GG Monday and see if I can get the skinny on whats going on. My base was also in a plastic bag, but the blocks (which were fixed to each other), weren't covered in anything.
I had figured I would set the figure on a pillow when I attached her to the base, but with the blocks loose, I'm going to have to set it up vertically- overhanging a ledge as Toys did. Would be better to have three hands doing that. Maybe this was a Diamond thing?

Alter Ego opened the box up and inspected it before shipping, which I don't have a problem with, but I don't think that had anything to do with the way these were when they got to me.
For one thing, even if the cubes had had plastic covering, they still couldn't have been attached because of how the base plate was wrapped. The cubes would have had to have been separate.

I've just thought of something else that gives me pause. Since I rotate my statues seasonally, everything gets assembled/disassembled multiple times. With pegs and magnets, it's a pain in the neck but I don't worry about the magnets or pegs wearing out. But I do question just how many times I'm going to be able to screw and unscrew into polystone without the threads in the statue stripping. I also have to wonder about the wisdom of securing a heavy statue with just a screw at the thinnest part of the statue.

Yeah, that's the one thing that bothers me about GG's statues. It's never been a problem before but there's always that one time.

Got mine today. 410/600.

Quickly inspected and she is all good! The right holster cannot hold the gun, will probably heat it up later when I get the chance. Gun and sight aligned well, no problem there. My base comes glued together in one big piece. The cubes are attached to the base.

Very happy with this. With only 600 run, I wonder if this will be the next Babydoll in the secondary market...

Mine shipped. Waiting for tracking info. Crossing fingers that there are no base cube, holster issues.

I suspect the separate cubes are a change that was made at some point in production.

I'm glad my parts are attached. I'm also glad my cubes are part of the base.

That's what I would think given that this isn't a one off situation. What's aggravating is I'd like to permanently affix them, but it's going to be tricky getting them in just the right spot so that they will sit perfectly in the stryo when it's taken apart again. Just a few millimeters off and it's not going to fit in the space at all without jeopardizing the protection to the adjacent figure.
Looking forward to seeing what they say Monday. Even if the replacement figures are all spoken for, they may have some fully assembled bases left. I hope.

My cubes were attached to each other but not connected to the base. I got a high ES number so you're probably right about it being a running change. I'm not worried about it. As I mentioned when she arrived my cubes even have some scratches on them but whenever I look at her on my shelf the cubes and base just disappear and I don't even notice them. It's like they're invisible. I'm totally satisfied with my statue.

Just to be clear, the two cubes are affixed to each other. They just aren't fixed to the base.

The number on this one is 234

It's possible if they are involved in the capturing of the digital scans.
The paint apps I'm seeing on this are sincerely exceptional but I lay the credit for this being so consistent to it's prototype as well as high degree of likeness to GG using the same digital scans that were made for a 200 million $ movie. If GG has continued involvement with the Marvel movies in that capacity, we should be able to see more pieces of this caliber in the future.
