People can say what they want about any Fett product, it doesn't matter if its "botched" or not, everyone knows its going to sell out. He even dies a comic relief death and still retains huge popularity. :lol

Wonky head, belt from who-knows, but an awesome fig... I had it, made a better one, sold the SSC one for $$$. All good.:lol
Pfft - you're splitting hairs with the head, & you can take the belt off.

The clothes could've been made with similar material to the prop costume though.

Soldier Story bodies, Marmit armour, SSC weapons, pouches, pauldrons, hands and packs.

The SSC rifle has been given a coat of Vallejo black primer and will be dinged with a few metallic nicks and scratches. Waiting on one last SSC backpack.

The weathering is kind of a compromise between what was seen on screen and what actual desert exposure might look like.

I'll probably tweak them slightly but more or less done.

I wonder if Hot Toys will do Sandtroopers and when. And will they beat the look of Marmit...?

Troopers look sharp, nice work.

Unless their in EP VII it could be 3 or 4 years or more before they get to them, unless they rush all OT stuff out the door before EP VII. Rushed production = Bad Quality Control.

And will they beat the look of Marmit...?

Only if your a HT fanboy.

Thanks guys. Definitely a labour of love. Nerdy, geeky love.

I also tried modding my snowtroopers. Colour match is perfect; I like it better than stock but may tweak it:

*Edit: Sorry about the filters, lighting's not great, phone cam etc. Anyway, the shrouds on the snow troopers are cut from vinyl, backed with stiff paper and lightly weathered with a hit of satin varnish.

Where I'm running into trouble is the shape of the SSC snowie helm...great figure but that flare is a little wide and creates a wider shroud effect than maybe I'd like, but it's very, very close to the screen appearance based on a cursory viewing of ESB.

I have authored over 11000 posts on a doll forum, I'm realistic about where I get off the cool train :lol

I got lambasted for using the "D" word when I first got here.:nono

More like elongating snouts.:lol It's a gorgeously detailed "Rodian" sculpt, it just doesn't look like Greedo specifically. And taking off the incorrect SSC belt/s doesn't help - Greedo did have a gunbelt in the movie but that wasn't included.

And yeah, a more faux-leather type material would have nailed the suit, though all pleather goes bad eventually. The sailcloth material sort of looks okay though.

That looks awesome. I've saved some white bag material for modding the Snowie cowl but can't bring myself to do it.:gah:

I've said it before, but I'll never grow tired of saying it... it's amazing how Marmits are still the benchmark by which all other Storm and Sandtroopers are measured. How could those guys get the shapes and proportions so right so long ago?

Yeah, my Marmit Sandie is 12+ years old and it more than holds it own against all the newer SSC/HT figs around it. Remarkably ahead of their time.

It must be said though - Marmits were REALLY expensive upon release. But some of the exclusive Hasbro 12" multi/two-packs were stupid expensive at the time.

I remember being totally baffled by the fact you had to "build" the Marmits like a model... I was like "hair dryer? Why?!":lol
