To me, Batman Begins has a better balance of the whole real world thing Nolan was going for and the more fantastical comic book world. He went too far with the real world stuff in TDK. It feels less like a comic book movie and more like a crime drama which is one of the things I don't really like about it.
I can totally see where your coming from, what I love about the avengers is that it makes no apologies for being a comic book movie, I'm going in expecting a green monster named hulk and for 2 hours I'm happy to believe he's 'real'.

Ipas much as I love Nolan's batman I do think at times he took the realism too far, I'm going to see a batman film, I've loved the character for 25 years, I'm OK believing that in Gotham a guy can fall in chemicals that turn him perma white.

I get that that us Nolan's vision, but I'd still have preferred joker was actually a perma white guy.

What do you think? :lol

I'm sure there is, and I imagine they complain about stuff just like we do, only its much, much duller.

"Dude weigh the battery, is it lighter or heavier than the old phone?"

"Just got the new iPhone, it says talk time us 4 hours, I only got 3 hours 52 mins, really not happy"

Or something like that.

Ok, hold on a second… The biggest tech announcement of the year coming down in two days and you guys are still trying to figure out which one of the three Nolan Batman movies is the best? Or whether or not two are good and one sucks? Just checking. Carry on. ;)

Betcha two bucks they announce a Steve Jobs sexbot.

I didn't mind The Joker not being perma white all that much. I just think there's a very different look and feel between the two movies. In BB Gotham actually looked and felt like Gotham. It looked kind of dirty and dangerous with the narrows while in TDK it was just Chicago. There was nothing unique about it at all. Then there was Batman's new suit which, again, I didn't necessarily mind, but it wasn't as good as the BB suit and it sort of just made him look like a dude in tactical gear instead of some monster out of the darkness. Also, the action kind of falls flat to me. It's just all presented very matter of fact and without a whole lot of pop or flair to it. I'm not saying it had to be like Avengers or Michael Bay over the top action, but I feel the the action in BB has a little extra something to it when compared to the action in TDK.

Agreed. Eyes and mouths, at least neutral are quite nice. Closer to on par with QS001. Glad to be getting this set after seeing some improvements.

Yeah, I think it would have been very difficult to exactly match the QS001 in sharpness of the details on the smaller 1/6 scale, but this is close enough for me. I can't wait until I have this in hand and compare it to both my DX12 and QS. I don't care if HT never does another TDK/R suited figure.

I'd like a Begins figure because I missed out on the previous, what, three iterations. :lol

IOW, if you're a fan of the Nolan films, HT had you covered, and then some.

Yea after this I really hope this line is retired. Though it seems inevitable we will see Two Face 2.0 and another Joker. Probably even other armories. But no Ra's.

It hasn't been announced yet, it's in two days man, I don't have ESP. ;) But it's not an iPhone, that everyone already knows about.

It's a time machine duh.

But seriously, no one has tried the new mouths on the DX12 yet?

I'm gonna add my 2 cents to the Nolan films discussion in the Armory thread.

This scene.

Bruce walks in, pretends to be a drunk ass and tells everyone to GTFO, five minutes later the mansion burns. The problem I have with the scene is I didn't hear any cars leave while all of this was taking place. That would mean the disgruntled partygoer's were most likely chatting around outside about what a **** Wayne was as the mansion started to go up in flames. To their eyes dude came home, told everyone to gets lost and proceeds to burn down his own house.

Yet, it is never mentioned or brought up ever again. Three films and not one "Hey Bruce remember that party when you burned down your own ****ing house lol, what the hell was that all about?"

It's called Suspension of Disbelief. Like when Bane's about to shoot Batman in the face and Catwoman arrives just in time to scatter him across the lobby.

Or like Begins, when Ras's diabolical plan is foiled with a hundred feet to spare.

I think it's deus ex machina rather than suspension of disbelief.

Nah, deus ex machina, essentially an act of god, would've been if a huge chunk of ceiling suddenly fell and conked Bane over the head. Or if a bolt of lightning came out of the blue and struck the train, blowing it up.

I think it used to mean an act of god but now it has become sort of like an unexpected solution that the audience really would have no way to anticipate. Like Catwoman showing up in the nick of time counts but Batman using his gauntlet to surprise the joker does not because that was foreshadowed or at least given some sort of acknowledgement that he could do that prior to the event.
