It's crazy people would defend a once in a lifetime policy regarding moving NRD's.... You guys have stock or something in the company? :)

I could say only crazy people toss down $40 on something they don't know if they really want, but I'm not that judgmental. ;)

Selling big items on Ebay is a pain in the ass, plus by the time you get done with fee's from Ebay and Paypal you probably lost more money then if you just ate the NRD.... In order to make it work you would have to hold onto the statue until SS sold out which could take anywhere from 6 months to a year... Don't really want to store statues for that long... Plus if the statue breaks while shipping it your basically screwed, unless the box is so damaged you can prove it's UPS/Fed-EX/USPS fault..

Well I should amend that I also really only put down an NRD on something if it's exclusive to sideshow, other I order at bbts or somewhere that doesn't nail me in sales tax. Makes flipping stuff easier when I need to.

Given SS takes anywhere from 12-18 months plus constant delays, sometimes LIFE happens and people have to change their plans. Or if you see pictures of the final product like the Terminator PF and realize it kind of sucks. So some of the blame is SS, if they kept their schedules and gave you statues that look like the prototype you based your order off of then we probably would see a lot less cancellations.

Or maybe its just you. Think about it, they've been selling any where from hundreds to Thousands of these things. Most enjoy what they've received. Of course theres what, 20 or 30 people on the boards that consantly seem to have an issue, and it just happens to be the same 20-30 every single time. Hmmm sounds like a pattern.

Look I've just got back into collecting 3 years ago. I've purchased in that time 11 statues, most I've kept some I've sold, not one has disappointed me. In that time I've cancelled 3 orders 1 because they announced another statue of the same thing that I liked better, 1 because I decided I wasn't going to try and buy the rest of the line from the aftermarket and 1 because I needed to help family out with the money instead.

I only moved one of those NRDs to another item, the rest Hey, it's my choice to cancel them. I know the rules, and I expect to deal with them.

Awesome! We have an NRD debate sparking in the XM captain thread! Haha hilarious. Where you find XM and SS mentioned in a thread together there shall be a debate:lecture

Here's my two cents.

Dan you need to work that CS rep a little harder. SS has transferred 5 NRDs for me in a two year period. Including an LSF IM deposit and the Prime1 Megatron deposit. If you have a logical and sensible reason they are willing to work with you. It's unwritten policy so the reasoning has to be good but I can attest to SS being extremely fair on that front.

Most companies charge alot more then 10% upfront as a PO deposit. I think it's pretty reasonable and the expectations are that your saving a spot in line for a statue that you choose to agree to the policy with. There's no forcing anyone's hand in that.

Hmm sounds like complete fiction.

I didn't start it, just remember that.

I'm sure it does, #17.

So you're assertion is that the same 20 or so people all purchase the exact same statues, even though they are all different characters crossing all different licenses, lines and scales?

Seems legit.

No, try reading it again. My assertion is that it seems to be the same 20-30 people complaining about all their sideshow purchases no matter what they buy. Never said they all buy the same things, nor did I even come close to implying it.

Come on guys. No one wants to come into the XM Cap thread and read a debate about SS's NRD policy. Start a new thread if the issue is that important to you, but it doesn't belong in here.

No thanks, once was enough although I do enjoy a good story.

So who are these people? List the offenders and put some credibility behind your hollow words.

You call me #17, yet I haven't returned an SSC piece. So you're 0-for-1, two strikes remaining.

I somewhat agree, but I find it annoying that XM discussions pop up in nearly every SS thread. Nothing we can really do about it since there's a constant debate between the two companies.

again didn't start but I'm stopping.

Who said anything about returning?
