Makes the PF Vader and Ben price chump change compared to the used car price of the LSF's. Will have to give them a closer look now for my first statue purchase.:impatient:

Is Shipping December 2014 a mistake? Well given their track record for shipping on time it will be but that's really soon :rotfl

I knew we wouldn't get anything close to the proto, but damn. Oh well, I'd rather buy 5-6 PFs anyway.

He didn't have the intrinsic resin at SDCC 2013 and he still looked great!

You know I'm not into complaining about statues or real nitpicky on things but I had to do this in hopes it's spurs some discussion. I'm pretty disappointed. Not sure if ill ever grab this one. from the werd looking face/head to the big change in the lightsaber hilt and the creepy dead looking zombie hands. Yikes!

You can switch out the lightsaber hilt, but I think you're stuck with the thicker version if you want to display the blade.

Is that movie accurate?

This really is lacking "WOW" factor for me..... Although he was an old man at this point Kenobi was one of the most skilled and powerful Jedi known.....
This representation of him is meek and mild. It carries none of the majesty it deserves.

SS has gone from the Kenobi Mythos which most are in agreement it is one of if not the BEST statue SS has produced to this.....

Not a good showing in my opinion....

Well he did come across as meek and mild in A New Hope. Nothing about Sir Alec was 'majestic' there.

I share everyones disappointment with this one.

I still like it, but no way is he worth $2k. I will pick it up down the road for a hefty discount when someone decides they need to sell theirs.

Someone explain to me where the $2000 price tag comes from? I am not seeing a 'next level' paint job on this one, and the cloth looks nice, but this one is making me scratch my head. This looks like a blown up PF. Those cost, what $400ish. So, where does the other $1600 for this one go to? I understand its bigger, but $1600 worth of material bigger?

Sideshow's wallet.

I'm really wondering if the photos are making this look more like a PF than it really does. It seems like they overdid the contrast on the shots w/o the hood as he looks quite "plastic". But in the further away shots with the hood up he actually looks quite good.

The work on the hand is pretty sloppy though, it looks more dirty than like a real hand.

Certainly doesn't warrant the high price tag, given the changes that have been made to it. The translucent resin was supposed to have been what made these 1:2 scale pieces "special" and justify a higher price tag. The fact that Sideshow initially advertised these pieces with a new method of capturing the human features and then 3 years later backtracking on it, yet still asking for the higher price point is wrong, IMO. Nothing wrong with releasing the piece, but lower the price. That would have been the fair and right thing to do.

SSC needs to get their act together with the prototypes to final product quality disparity

Thanks for the thoughts, all. Was curious as to the 'deal' with these - aside from the bigger scale

Yeah, Maul was just a regular paint job as well wasn't he?

So far the "Legendary" piece of these seems to be lacking except for the cost... maybe it should be LPF; Legendary Price Figures :lol

Reaper LSF was 1k and was worth it IMO. Maul was just a regular paint job....i wish I could find someone to spruce it up a little bit even though it is a great paint job....but he doesn't have "human" skin like Obi's.

This might be another case where SS official pics don't look as good as the actual product. I have the Obi LSB, and that one looked way off on their site, but I love mine. In person it's a great likeness. :) Guess we'll see.
