The only way I'd do the trade if I was Cle. Giving up two nbr 1 pick for Love for two years...pass.
LeBron was smart doing short incremental deals. Gives him all the power. Dan Gilbert, the idiot letter writer, has a bad track record with everybody and cannot be trusted. LeBron signing short deals takes the power from the buffoon. The love thing is a no brainer, people please.. I'm imagining moving forward a lot of "long time" cavs fans will creep out of the wood work, while the heat fans creep back into it.
I think the Lakers are obviously going with Byron, but he's still on Gilbert's dime, so why announce it and stop the buffoon from paying him the moment you do. I bet all these interviews are team meetings regarding New pesonel. Funny, really....
With all this talent coming out this year I'm banking on smart as rookie of the year, randle trailing as second. Poor Wiggins will be under a microscope and Parker is a defensive sieve.

The 2 year contract has nothing to do with Gilbert. It's all about money.
Lebron will be making 30 Million a year soon.

Gilbert is a moron, I won't challenge that opinion. I will challenge the asking price for Love which I have done since the rumor started. I never said he wouldn't be a great acquisition, I said I do not believe he is worth the asking price. If GMs around the league believe Love is such a stud why hasn't GS moved? Why no other offers? Everyone knows Minn is asking for too much, I recommend waiting them out. IMO Gilbert moves forward with the trade (as rumored) it solidifies his stupidity.

If there was no chance of a cap increase Lebron would have signed a long term deal. Sure Dan Gilbert is a goofball but Lebron is about money.

Agreed. I've said since the Warriors trade rumors started that Love is not worth what Minnesota is asking. He's a great player but he doesn't make any team an instant title contender.
Agreed. New tv deal comes up giving James opportunity to make money. I fully expected a short term deal both to pressure Gilbert and to ensure he collects bank next free agency period.
I agree money is involved, but he makes plenty of that, more so off the court..

the short deals keep his team under pressure to continue spending on talent around him. With the chance to become a free agent every year, James will constantly have the ability to exert maximum influence around the team.

Minnesota has no leverage. Giving up klay, a proven both sides of the court player is too much. They love him there. West is against it. Coach is against it. The more time passes, the less leverage minny has. They're in a lose situation. They should take the term bound, cost controlled Wiggins deal and move on.
