I also started researching other sideshow human figures and most of them are old but they are not bad so this situation has me a little confused. maybe our standard have been raised by Hot Toys.

Here are a couple of them note that none of them are prototypes they are inhand photos taken by normal buyers or reviewers.

The kotaku review looks legit, completely showing everything box and everything including the exclusive spider, in that review the sculpt is not best but it might be lighting but its not as horrible as the one in the video in this thread. No malice intended but I really wish the figure in the video was a bootleg or a reject from the assembly line. I'll keep my order if its that bad I'll just return it and eat the $10 shipping cost for being stubborn.

Why would one eat the shipping cost if the figure looks nothing like the one advertised? I know the whole"final product might vary" but this is beyond that.

Hell, why one would even consider getting this after what's been shown is even worse.

Anyway... I'm not cancelling my order. I'm an Uncharted collector, not a collector with 50 different Sideshow or Hot Toys collectibles on display. I'm preparing to feel a little disappointed, but that just makes my PFF a little more special. I'm just a little disappointed that it was much easier for me to buy the standard edition of the PFF from a local seller than it was to order through Sideshow and deal with potentially a different courier firm, import taxes etc..

Trevor confirmed that man, he said it is his; but they modified the sculpt. This is what they did:

They molded Trevors, used probably hydrospan 100 grow cast (water to grow it), molded it again and casted. Then cut the seem around hair fixed eyes for sockets. Them took the 2 halves and molded it and used hydrospan 400 shrink cast (water to shrink it) and that's why it's distorted. Even Denny said when Q did recasts of Cowboy it causes the sculpt to distort cause it's not original.

Embarrassing for Trevor that his name will still appear on the box as sculptor.

Ironic that Sideshow used to get him to sculpt over-size heads. Then when he sculpts something more proportionate they decide to blow it up. For all the good it did they might as well have blown it up with plastic explosives!

Yes, they probably are..

That's how PKA have sold their ****** posable figure for long. Dress something up in a FF costume (especially VII and X) and they will sell in Japan.. Doesn't matter how bad the faces look, or how poor the quality control on them is..

And I think all gamers have fallen victim to buying a Collector Edition and expecting the statue in it to be good, only to open it and it is only an inch high, or crappy plastic like the batarang in Batman Arkham Asylum..

i'm a gamer/collector and even i can tell (from the pictures anyway) that it is bad.
i kinda feel like the gamers side of collectibles aren't really taken seriously, looking at PAKs, Hot Toys sparse offering, and now THIS.

Hot Toys takes games seriously. Ezio was a good result.

I think threeA do a good job with the Halo figures. Also threezero have shown great potential with titanfall, and dead space. Here's hoping they announce more gaming licenses. Other smaller companies such as kids logic Gouki and world box sub zero have been nice suprises too.

Well yeah Ezio was good(at least you can count on HT quality), but that's what I mean by sparse offering as the other choices are mostly Resident Evil. Only now do we get MGS..and Raiden is looking good so far.

Yeah those Gouki and Sub Zero was awesome too.
