I agree ambasah .. I wish GG or Koto would play the quarter scale game..

its ok but the head looks out of proportions IMO ... I will decide when I get it if I keep it or get something else for that huge amount of cash...

If Gentle Giant did the 1/4 scale they'd charge $1,000 each if not more.

Wasn't expecting mine until Monday, but just checked the tracking info out of interest and he's landed here in the UK already and will be here today. :yess:

This is about as skinny as they get. Sideshow's still looks skinnier.

:exactly:

When I hear some people saying the Snowtroopers look that skinny in the movies makes me laugh. Watch again the movies, they might be skinny but it doesn't show THAT much with their baggy pants and suits. It shows very well on the SSC PF instead.

The pose for each OT trooper from Sideshow's 1:4 line is weird (except Scout on speederbike which is almost perfect): Stormtrooper - back leg too short, Scout - pooping in the woods, Snowtrooper - skinny bobble-head that looks like he is almost falling. SSC should look again at some other PF's in their own line, and choose some better poses for these iconic troopers.

Argh, who posted the picture with the 2 Snows? Each of the pose would have been better than the used one ... Also it looks like that the fabric / mixed media isn't very screen accurate, since the coat and the top should have a different color and not the same and some parts have a little pink touch.
I hope this is a result of the lighting conditions.

At least it would have a better pose. :monkey3

Sorry, that was me. :lol

this is completely untrue. Have a look at what they charge for cap, black widow, and iron patriot in 1/4 scale. Plus you can get those from ADs for a substantial discount (not like SS).

It's 100% true. Those are not Star Wars items. GG adds the "Star Wars" tax to everything Star Wars ;) They know Star Wars will sell so they charge 4x the normal price or 4x what it should go for. Look at their Star Wars products like the life size figures.

Yeah yeah OK no ones allowed to like this fig we get it FFS

Dude you know how it is. Everyone wants the actual guys shrunk down to miniatures before they would compliment something like this. Hell even then there would be the typical complainers that the shrinking process somehow changed something.

Wtf do you want for $400 bucks a Lamborghini? Get with it guys it's a collectible with an artistic point of view and interpretation. You don't like it, don't buy it, but stop crapping on the members who do trying to drive home your points. You've been heard.

JNKo I could point out lots of flaws on your stuff. The details are in the eye of the beholder, and considering Sideshow had access to the real stuff I would say they are more accurate than a guy looking at photos.

I know first hand from handling the screen used costumes that the actors wearing them were thin as a 15 year old boy. The helmet size is spot on to what it looks like in person as compared to the actors size. The pose doesn't bother me, I like it. I would have preferred a little more girth myself, but this still looks great, and I am thrilled that SS came out with him. Don't worry there will be plenty more items for you all to crap on soon I'm am sure.

sorry dude, but I completely disagree. GG has a han in stormtrooper disguise statue for pre-order right now for $265 (granted it is 1/6 scale) which you can get for around $200 from an AD. No reason at all to assume 1/4 scale would cost 4x as much.

Wrong. Proven already many times. If you like this then you shouldn't mind the guys who don't. Don't get personal, it is my opinion on a figure/statue, not on you as a person. Make the difference, and get over it, the same way I (and a few others like Gino) got over it when you declared some time ago you own screen used helmets LOL... :wave I guess you could point out lots of flaws on any kind of stuff, you do have the experience...

This one turned out great I think. Very good paint job and I love the wheathering effect on the clothes.

The head doesn't look no where near as big as it does in Dan350zr picture, it's absolutely fine in person.

Your trooper looks a LOT cleaner then mine, I think they drug mine through the dirt before they sent it to me :lol

those are some great photos you two!!! :clap

hoping to see one with all three lined up or all the ss 1/4 troopers together.

Mine is dirty looking. It's probably the photos as the light wasn't great when I took them.

Cheers.

You getting him ?

It's really that one picture earlier that made the head look big. The last set of pictures look great. He looks great with the stormtrooper in the other pics as well. I can't wait to see this in person this weekend. Thanks for the pictures guys!
