And DD HIMSELF would fall on his face if he tried THIS POSE!!! If he were real that is...lol

Spidey, you're assuming that he's swinging his left arm from left to right. Who is to say that he's not starting the spring/sprint from a battle stance and his arm will be moving right to left?

Like Josh said, there are many ways to justify the pose. I'm not saying that it's the best DD pose they could have chosen. But, honestly, for me DD is a character that doesn't really have a signature pose because he's always moving. To really capture DD in his element, he'd have to be in mid air, or swinging around a flagpole or something like that...both of which I think would be really difficult to achieve practically (maybe you could work on that after you do your Hulk).

Personally, I'd like to have seen the billy clubs a bit bigger, but I just don't see what all the fuss over this pose is about.

Picture him having just landed a jump down from a rooftop...he does a dramatic little battle pose with the billy clubs, now he's springing into action again...really, what is so difficult?

See I love the BIB Comiquette, and I honestly think that they could have made DD look AMAZING with a similar pose.

Spidey I remember people losing their marbles :panic: when Iron Spidey and BIB came out because of the pose. They were like "he would never pose like that, or it's too small and blah blah blah".
Sideshow fans just jump to conclusions before seeing the final in hand product. Sideshow made DD like this, there is no other tale to tell. People just have to accept it and who knows, maybe when it's actually in hand people may change their minds.

Your crazy man. He amidst moving and possibly ready to spring into action. Not fall on his head. It doesn't take a blind man to see that! :wink1::lol

It's happened multiple times. I've been guilty of it, I think we all have at one time or another...Green Lantern any one?

Ok, for this statue, as stated above I see DD having just landed from a jump and done a "bring it" superhero pose like this:

daredevil+bring+it.JPG

So, in my mind, this statue depicts the moment after where he springs into action. Pretty simple. The sculpted detail and paint on this statue look awesome. The final product should be great.

Now, if we can just get that Bullseye PF to help recreate that scene...

Yeah, just have that feeling people will look at these in hand photos and be like DAAAMN, DD looks sweet!

I think that is a guarantee.

I really like this. I like the pose and it's much better than what we usually get from SS. I do wish the base was a bit larger. I'd preorder it if I didn't have so much other stuff in line.

From some angles it looks like Lady Justice is making a football tackle. I need to see it straight on from up high though to see if there is a less awkward angle to pose. I'm guessing the action looks better that way.

You always get the moaners. There's so much stuff coming out right now it's nearly impossible to keep up unless money isn't an issue, sometimes I think people are just moaning to justify having to pass up on the pieces they can't have

That's a common refrain every time there is any criticism of a piece, and it's not true. I did order it at bbts, just not sold on keeping it. If it's at SDCC that will likely be when I can get a better gauge. Until then, were just all chatting. No one is hating on this.

I wasn't just referring to DD & I'm not saying it's the case for everyone because no matter what SS do they can't make a pose everyone will be happy with.

Like I said I'm not referring to everyone but I just find when there's a lot of things people want (not just in this hobby) but can't have it all. I find you will get a small group who will keep knocking the things the can't have to justify there decision.

Personally I'm getting this & I'm really happy with how it's turned out & the detail looks fantastic. Is it perfect? No there is things I would change about it but that's me

No malice intended. No denying though they made odd design choices with this, Thor and CR Superman. So much so that even no NRD only managed a 500 and 1k ES respectfully. I think they are legitimately leaving people scratching their heads on the art direction, especially at these prices.

ETA: you know what RB, I have noticed a number of people who DO buy a statue that bad mouth it too. Happens all the time. I sometimes wonder if they are not trying to deflate the balloon a little to keep the ES lower. I have seen it happen so many times, that I shake off a lot of that nonsense.

As for me, I like about 99% of what they do. Even surfer Thor. This one is in the 50/50 camp for me personally.

Oh, Speaking of which I found a great Tutorial about eyes! so now I finally have a good idea of how to do them, let me know if you need it and I'll PM you.

Send it on over m8.. I have seen a few, but could always use more.

How did you accidentally post it? :lol

Big jump to a full Hulk statue.

I was going to insert a gif, but I copied the wrong link...lol. Yeah t is a big jump, BUT I have always challenged myself when it comes to art. Plus I have a *****in reference...lol

Lol... DD is so far down my list of things to try and sculpt. Would have to have someone offering me big bucks to try it...lol. As for ideas I have a crap load. I just can't think of a reason why SSC went with this particular pose, other than the possible fact that Andy B wanted to stay away for the same type of straight on Pose that was used for the Batman PF.

Oh I don't doubt this may look better in person. Like I said the pose just doesn't really make sense to me.

They captured the wrong MOMMENT in the range of motion then m8, and avoid the blind man jokes m8.... It has taken all of my self control not to go there ans Photoshop thos pics....lol

Who's moaning? This is a forum, a place to discuss and air views.
Just because someone may not agree with you doesn't mean they're moaning.

I personally find space more a hindrance than money.

Not a great fan of the character and I'm usually on the more critical side of Sideshows recent adventures but my first impressions are that it looks quite good (again as an outsider).

It's actually quite a safe pose and safe is good to me. Safe should have been CR superman. Yeah sure he's doing something but it's not got outlandishly twisted wrists, arms, legs or some weird head position or expression.

I think this is a solid statue but I could be off the mark as far as representing the character goes.

Okay so if I'm being honest, the paint on the Red Daredevil isn't the red I'd like it to be.

and I know I'm posting a ton of pics this morning but I'm in a photoshopping mood. But this is closer to what I thought the color should be.

View attachment 108863

I mentioned that in one of my 1st comments about the piece. His costume should have one uniform color. IMO, his costume should be the color of his boots and gloves. A darker red. The current red is just way too light for my tastes. It doesn't look very good. Oh, and I still don't like the pose. :wink1:

Yeah man that's why now, if I like it I get it. I will always express my disappointment, if I am, then move on.

Sent from the **** Pit of the Millenium Falcon

Oh, and I still don't like the pose. :wink1:

How dare you!!! :horse

I really don't understand why the people who are happy with how this turned out cannot tolerate others expressing their opinion :dunno

There's actually more comments about people objecting to others not liking the pose than there is people saying they don't like the pose :lol
