So somebody let the cat out of the bag and did the same thing like when they has announced the assassins creed figures. They might be able to stop them from distributing it in the US but I don't think they can stop them from releasing it in China

Release it or not.....notify retailers already so they can notify consumers and return money when warranted. Enough of the shenanigans :lol

I saw looking for a Medicom Dredd for a custom and saw the ArtFigures one and was like YES PREORDERED!! Then I came here to find out when it will be out and then I read this...very tragic. I know a FEW sites seem to still have it up but I am leery of doing anything...I would hate for it to be cancelled and I lose my cash or something. Very sad because that Dredd was one the top of my 1/6 want list. Seeing 2000AD act like this is just hurtful. As a long time Dredd fan I have always wondered why they seemed content to only offer mugs, key chains, t-shirts, and super expensive props that only a few can afford. I say either let this fig come out or get with the programs and give us some Dredd (movie and comic) figures, props that are less than 100 bucks, and other stuff.

if you order at alteregocomics you got nothing lose...they are still offering it and until they pull it....the figure is a go!

From Darren at Collectable Kitbash:

Its with Regret we have been forced to Cancel the ART Figures AF-015 Heavy Armoured Cop at the request of Rebellion (Licence Holders of 2000AD/Judge Dredd) . We have been advised to NOT import this product into the UK ,even if production goes ahead ..We Apologise for this but really want no part in this Product and its possible implications...Those who have Preordered will be refunded within 24-48 Hours ..Thanks

I hoped AF could sort something out with them but not going to happen im afraid..Rebellion told me they are licensing one soon

:exactly:

Just hope that a possible licensed one looks as good as the unlicensed one!

if this one makes it to us, and a company picks the license up, they would have to knock it out of the park. More incentive for the customer to pick it up.

Could you imagine HT getting it and giving us a two pack with urban and stallone likenesses?

What happened to the assassins creed figure?

There was a company, Fire Figures, who have planed and made prototype figures of Assassins creed Enzio, Connor, and the pirate one I forget his name any way some one on Facebook notified ubi soft and they need up pulling the plug on the figure.

I recall Triad Toys and their (or technically, Showtime's) effort to put the kibosh on various unlicensed Dexter figures. That proposed licensed figure never saw the light of day. . .

Triad Toys were going to release licensed Dexter figures? Maybe that project never saw the light of day because of the many unlicensed/custom Dexter figures out there..?

Looks like it was posted on 2000 AD Online. That part of the forum requires registration, but I can see this much on a Google search:

It's made by a company in Hong Kong called Art Figures. Not sure how official this is: Product Name: Heavy Armoured Special Cop Product ...

Edit: that part of the forum is accessible, but the topic was removed.

Who the hell is Rebellion? And if they don't make high end 1/6 figure, WGAF? Six inch sculpted toy store figures are irrelevant.

2000AD Copyright© 2014 Rebellion A/S. All Rights Reserved.

If they really are licensing a 1/6 figure soon then they'll be wanting to clear the market of knock-offs.

So far it appears that the "legal threat" has been made by Rebellion directly to the retailers concerned, which would explain why some are persisting with their listings.

Still no indication from the source that that production/release has been cancelled since Art Figures still have their Cop on the front page, and are still stating:

Release Date:2014-6
Product Status:FOR ORDERING

over here in asia, we're not immune to 2000AD's cease & desist either. the place i PO-ed from has also taken the listing off their website. so far, the shop hasn't contacted me for a refund. tbh, i hope this figure happens. but i won't be too bummed if it doesn't. fact of the matter is, this is a bootleg.

I wouldn't put much stock in the "possible official figure" as a condolence for the cancellation of this one. Its a long way from licensing to production, and is be surprised if it ever sees the light of day.
There is also the very real chance that any figure will be nowhere near the level of quality of this one. For all we know, it could some crappy MEGO figure or something.

Screw 2000AD and them trying to get in the way of us getting our figure. I hope Art Figures manages to get this out. And when they do, il be the first in line to order one.

Like another marvel legends! Bwaaahahaha
