^Just looked at the pic you mentioned and what you see is actually just light/reflection from the window. I really wish I could tell you otherwise, because I wanted the blue hues as much if not more than everyone else. And yeah, the NECA one is good, but definitely an inferior piece in every way compared to the EB version. The only thing it has in its favor is more sound clips from the movie.

lol, good luck holding off on getting it
I have to as a robonut

You need to get it. You must.

Not this time. I've decided that Terminator is the only thing I will own in all 3 of the main action figure scales. Robocop I shall limit to 2 scales, the tiny NECAs and Hot Toys 1:6.

I won't be slagging off this one though, it looks great. Saigon's comparison pics there are actually the kind of pics I've been most curious to see, what it would look like next to Terminator HD figures and NECA's old 1:4 figure. And its beautiful.

Awesome review first and foremost thank you. I can agree even though I don't have my figure yet from Timcent I do have the BD helmet and can say the paint job whilst not bad doesn't look like damage lol it looks like a ghosting flame paint job much like your observation in your review. As for the neca 1/4 I just happened to scoop one up yesterday at my local shop. The guy entering right before I did sold his entire 1/4 neca collection and one of two that were still in the box happened to be Robo. I got a killer deal from my shop so it should hold me over till I get the HD Enterbay piece =D

The battle damaged helmet supposed to look like a burned mark, because Cain (robot) burned that cut into the helmet in RoboCop 2.

I really hate to break it to you guys, but there's pretty much no blue to the paint. There are very subtle purplish hues when under certain lighting, but as far as blue goes, don't hold your breath. I think the blue you see in the pic above is mainly reflection from the sky. It's still an awesome paint job, but it's mainly silver with a subtle hint of purple.

Hmm good point that would explain why it looks blue in outside pics but looks silver grey when pics or video are taken indoors. Nevertheless, the plastic must be pretty reflective to be able to even achieve that effect in the first place. :rock

The most blue you'll see on the figure is on the back of his helmet. If EB painted his entire body to look more like that one small portion, I think the paint would be more screen accurate to the movie. But there are smart freaks here. I think with clever lighting, you could probably get him to look more blue.

Yeah just put it in a Blue LED light case like this.

This is why it looked blue in some in hand pics from Asian collectors.

Its not so much the helmet that has the dodgy burn pattern but the chest plate. The Helmet looks great but the chest looks like it was painted by someone with far less skill

^Yeah, I've replaced the original head with a custom by MRM. The stock head had the sticky paint issue, so I just removed all the white paint and will probably repaint it one day when I've got some free time.

I assume those pics are in the EB Joker thread?

Oh ok well it certainly brings out the likeness to Ledger when the paint is removed. Would love to see your repaint. ;)

The pics were in MRM's 1/4 HS thread, but I've since removed the pics ( some guy got all bent out of shape since a few pics were sideways/upside down). As for the stock head, it does look a lot like ledger without the white paint. I'm still debating whether I want to try resculpting some of the head (widen the face, shorten the chin) before I do any repainting. Either way, that won't be for a while, but I'll post pics if/when it ever gets done.

Geez what an idiot. Did it have Zack's paint job?

So u are a talented enough sculptor to do that?

^Yeah, Zack did all of the work, paint and all. I've got another 1/4 MRM HS that I bought used (had a lot of chipped paint) and I redid/touched up a lot of the paint on that one. Looks a lot dirtier after I was done with it. (Took down pics of that one too)

And nope, hahahaa. I have absolutely no sculpting skills at all. But now that I've got 2 MRM HS's, I figured I could try my hand at sculpting by messing around with the stock head. Maybe I'll make a cast first so I won't risk destroying the original. Anyway, we better get back to Robocop before people start complaining lol :lol

That would be a smart decision. ;)

Yeah we should but it is amazing how we just got so off track with me just commenting on the Joker. Ok so armor on Robocop must be pretty reflective right like a mirror to be able to create blue hues just from the sky. I take it the NECA one can't do that right?

Hahahaa yeah, I could talk all day about EB's Joker. By far one of my favorite figures, especially with MRM's HS.

The glossy clear coat on the EB Robocop armor is very reflective. Not like a mirror, but more of a glass-like sheen. The finish is very well done and there are no major paint flaws that I've seen on mine. As for NECA's, the blue hues are not really dynamic, but instead are painted on. And there is no gloss to the NECA paint job at all, pretty much just a flat finish.

Hmm ok, I just looked at some pics of the first Robocop and color wise it isn't really blue, and actually closer to EBs color. I think Robocop 2 is the only movie where he looked practically blue. In both Robocop 1 and 3 he only looked blue sometimes. The fact that the armor is very reflective must make it look very life like in person then right?

Opening mine last night at last. Ooh he is superb!

Sat on coach now with a cuppa t so I can take pics on request lads.

Congrats man! Very nice pic. On request? No! Just shoot and post. :D

Yeah, that and the fact that the PW faceplate is spot on :yess:

Congrats, Eamon!! Glad you like yours, too! I think everyone picking this guy up will be glad that they did :)

Needless to say I am having much fun here. I only ever had (on loan) the aweful Kenner figure when I was a kid with the gun you had to stick to the leg. This resonates like a He-Man figure for me!
