saved pics in case Anthrapoid is right in the end, and prints become needed to place on ED.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl It's not a mistake by Hot Toys. These are the decals they used on the full sized movie prop! It was a very deliberate joke about the nature of ED209s rushed and shonky build quality. :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl
already said that in case Gigerfan turns out being right.

i'm fully prepared to watch the Decals Discussion to its end :rock

Couldn't care less about the labels, myself. I'll read them maybe once? *shrugs* Doesn't take anything away from this piece, IMO.

For those in the know.

The warning label also contains a news line that never made it into any cuts of movie.

My camera isn't the best so it's hard to read.

I should correct myself by saying that it was predominatly the puppets that had the gag labels in the movie.

Agreed...i'll probably just laugh at it. I get what people are saying though, that for the price, the labels should be correct. But i don't feel that what we're paying for, is going to the labels. It's going towards the figure itself. If they've corrected the problem with the dome, (i didn't get the first ED-209 so this will be my first one) which is my biggest worry about this figure, i'll gladly ignore the silly mistranslations.

^^^ Same, I care about the figure itself. I do wish they had just done a plastic dome like neca, i dont get why HT is so dead set on rubber for the dome :dunno

i will never, never understand why a certain group of people come to say "i don't care".
they don't bring any info, they don't notice something, they don't compete anything cool. they just say: "i'm dull."
looking for movie decals earlier i found a guy who reverse engineered ED-209 and started to build it, making all details in metal - like another guy already did with Robocain.
coming here, i see "attention attention! i have nothing to say about the figure, i don' care".

This is a different warning label than the one we were discussing before of course, but after reconstructing and reading it, I found it VERY interesting. As you can see below, it talks about some anti-gun legislation precipitated by a seemingly fictional elementary school 'shooting rampage' in Connecticut, in which 28 people were killed. I looked into past records of any such event prior to the release of Robocop, and found nothing. I did however find a report about an actual elementary school shooting which occurred on December 14, 2012, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut... 28 people killed.
This tiny label references actual political figures; Lieutenant Governor Mark Darr held office in Arkansas from 1973 on, and died February 1, 2014. Mike Beebe became governor of Arkansas in 2006, and his term limit ends in 2014. The label is obviously historical, referring to the Sandy Hook massacre of 2012.

So- who at Hot Toys chose this 2 year old news snippet for an ED-209 label, and why? Is it a personal call for gun control on the part of someone at Hot Toys, or the company's management? Is it the exact opposite? Is it a satirical, ironic poke in the eye to 'them crazy gun totin' Americans'? (the irony being ED-209's extremely violent actions in Robocop, and the fact that Hot Toys is SELLING a so-called 'violent toy' to us all, while condemning gun ownership at the same time)...
I'd be interested to know what other people think about this. Read the label, and read some of the article I linked. Here is my accurate reconstruction of the label, which is located on both of ED-209's ankles and on its chest area:g421456g_zps27d1590a.jpg

First off, you are hardcore.

Second, this is one of the most interesting posts I have read!!! Your question about if in fact Hot Toys is SELLING a so-called 'violent toy' to us all, while condemning gun ownership at the same time is quite fascinating.

You think ED would be illegal to some extent in the movie then right, his cannons are basically .50 cal and the way he shoots up kenny is rather excessive :lol

Law Enforcement has become militarized and .50 caliber firearms are not illegal in all states. The rockets would be more illegal than anything.
