(to the first post on this page)

....uh...hm. Something tells me you didn't actually watch the movie if you think Beerus' objective revolves around pudding...and no sense of danger...heh...I guess the entire world exploding isn't actually that big of a deal.

*SPOILERS* (for safety)
Well I enjoyed the movie, as Big Deano said it brought back a lot of that original dragonball humor, and the fighting was a lot cooler in the sense that it was much more about technique and actual fighting and less explosions from the usual (although it does have it's moments) I found it very entertaining and really I think we should let each person decide for themselves whether they like it or not I mean who are we to tell other what to do, whether they watch and it and love it or hate it, that has no effect on anyone so I see no point in telling people they'd be wasting their time and this and that let them decide

Bog D, Dragonball had a lot more depth to it than "pudding". Especially the tournament sagas really were about the wisdom behind martial arts.

This BoG movie sound mostly like the Buu sagas to me. Dragonball had humor, yes, but it had a lot of quality too. I don't get that vibe from BoG...

I think you misinterpreted me silrian, I was talking about the silliness, not specifically about the pudding :lol

I just used the word pudding as an amalgamation there.:p I still feel that the gap in silliness between DB and DBZ is smaller than a lot of people claim. I had DB as purely comedic in my mind too until I rewatched it recently and though it has more more humour, Goku being a kid, the gap was far from as large as I remembered. Especially from the second world tournament onward.

I think I find Buu within the context of DBZ, sillier, than most characters within DB. There's a difference between quirky and silly, DB is more quirky than silly imo. Quirky isn't necessartily dumb, silly is. DB isn't dumb imo, it was actually surprisingly clever to me, relatively. And so I'm not sure where BoG falls. If it's truly more like DB, with actual better humour but also more heart and wisdom to it, and Toriyama's quirkyness, than I might actually enjoy it. If it's silliness a la Buu, and uninspired writing within a DBZ context of world destroying stakes etc, I'll probably dislike it.

Once Krillin is murdered after the 22nd Tournament it drops pretty much all the humor. The Piccolo arc is the darkest arc under Freeza and the most serious arc under Cell. The Saiyan arc brings it back to being really silly with the Snake Way and King Kai planet-"Refusing to train Goku if he doesn't tell him a joke and laugh and "Peeing for distance" sort of thing. How did you feel about that, because I think it's more like that. I really liked the "pudding scene", it wasn't some stupid throwaway gag like Boo drinking a milkshake out of no where, it's a natural blending of comedy into the plot, like Dragon Ball (except for the Ninja Murasaki scene which was like a Looney Tunes cartoon). The Boo arc had a lot of bad writing, especially with Boo, and it kept messing with the tone and was totally out of place. Even Kid Boo, who was supposed to be a relentless killing machine, would stop in the middle of a fight to sleep, which was ridiculous. That's why I only like the "Boo-tenks" form, because he was the only intelligent form and didn't mess around. Here's the two things I hated, and I think you'd want to know, because it ruined the movie for me, until I watched it again. I still hate them, but I could ignore it better a second time through:

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vegeta tries to entertain Beerus and calm him down, so he doesn't destroy the Earth by dancing in a ridiculous way. I get that he's moved past his pride, they should have shown a different way of him distracting him. Maybe it will be better when Chris Sabat does the voice, because he really cares about the character, and with KAI, Sabat and Schemmel said they changed lines that were in the Japanese because they felt they were out of character, but kept true to it. The animation is still there, so there's not much they can do though. The second thing is the way the SSJ God form is brought about. 6 pure hearted Saiyans need to hold hands in a circle and being that Pan was pregnant, her baby was considered one of them. It was silly and ridiculously contrived. Don't hype the form up to be anything other than the other movie transformations. I like the design, but it shouldn't exist. Leave the legendary form alone! With that in mind, I hope you enjoy it! I don't want you to waste your money.

Thanks for posting! His eyes look a little off to me though. Still, it looks great! I tear in the pants is a neat touch!

Amazing, if totally expected; this also lends credence to the rumor that it will be 17 then kid buu.

I do agree that he looks slightly off, but I will chalk that down to a mix of his weird stance, his face not facing straight and the fact that they had to shorten his hair to allow neck movement.

@Bane the Goku Piccolo Jr fight might seriously be in my top 5 fights in the franchise. It's INSAAAAAAAAANE how long Goku keeps going. Half his body gets ****ing broken and pierced and what not. I love how Dragonball starts so innocently and gets pretty effin hardcore. You really see the devide between db and dbz is kinda nonsense, both series are a build up and it's just one curve upward from start to finish (well at least to the finishing of cell imo). The last fight in DB is effectively already like DBZ is and that goes for more fights in DB.

I couldn't really believe it before I saw it a while back, but watching DB really only added to my fandom of DBZ, big time. Although I was bummed out even more that they broke the tournament off in the Buu period.

Also: FINALLY THE TWIIIIIIIIIINS AAAAAAAAH:panic:

Hey all! Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been reading this thread for a while now and thought I'd introduce myself and share some info. I am a huge fan of these figures and I'm pumped for the upcoming Android releases. The only ones I'm missing so far are Krillin, original Gohan and original Piccolo. I'll definitely be looking to get Krillin but likely will not get the other 2 as I like the coloring on the SDCC releases much better.

Also I'm looking to acquire Trunks so if anyone has a spare they are willing to part with, PM me!

I believe a little while back someone asked about differences between SDCC SS Goku vs the re-released version. Obviously the colors are different but I also noticed that the articulation at the shoulder is a little different. The re-release seems to have a slightly wider range of movement which allows him to, IMO, do more accurate looking Kamehameha poses. I'll post some pics later on of that comparison.

I read a bunch about the bootleg SS Vegeta and custom post time chamber SS Trunks head by Da Tong floating around taobao, eBay and now Amazon. I actually purchased the Vegeta off of eBay and received it yesterday. It is practically an exact copy of the original but there are a few differences. I'll post some comparison pics and go over those later too. I have an order for a few more Vegetas and a SS Trunks head as well. I plan on using the Vegetas for some customs later on.

Yeah, I really surprised that they went back and did even more work on Android 17. I thought that what we saw when he was revealed was final, since Android 18 had been changed. I'm really glad they got rid of the chubby cheeks, now he looks pretty much perfect. I love how they did his eyes, they really captured his character. It feels bittersweet though, because I'm scared we'll never get Android 16. I know we'll never get 19 or 20, but 16 would have been awesome with all of his part swapping. The forearm rockets, the damaged head, the bear hug arms, etc. It seems like, if things are playing out a certain way, that the Buu Saga is the focus now and they are just putting a nice little bow on the Android saga with A17. Not that they won't go back to it, but I can see them focusing on the Buu Saga Saiyans from this point on. Good thing there's Figuarts Zero and Banpresto, lol! :)

Na, I can;t call this bittersweet in any freakin way, I've wanted figures of these two half my life and now I finally get to basically complete what I always wanted with goku and the twins (Well, Long Hair Trunks would really be the final completion).

You're right though absolutely LOVE how 17 came out, they really seem to have gone the extra mile, and to boot for non-main characters.

Now if they steer clear from QC issues, these 2 might be some of the best releases so far quality-wise.

I just massively wonder what his accessories will be. It does seem like a brilliant spot to include another piccolo head. Although if it's a bashed in face I'd probably never use it.

What else could he come with? He can't have much more faces than 18? I still kinda hope for the armsleeve folded up-arms, instead of normal folded arms.

EDIT: strike that I thought 17 folded up his sleeves in the fight against piccolo but he doesn't. I don't know why I have an image in my head of him doing so.:dunno
