Hi guys,

Have not really been following this thread and have been meaning to catch up so I'm not sure if anyone's attempted modifying this figure yet.

Right out of the box I was severely disappointed with this figure, this is an effort way beneath Hot toys and I'd be a bit embarrassed to put out a product like this if I were them especially after releasing something as wonderful as DX13.

The most disappointing part is that the likeness and sculpt was great there was a lot to work with here. But a terrible body choice bad tailoring and glaring omissions messed up this figure.

Luckily I was able to extract the Crow I really wanted with some effort and now am very pleased.

My mods include:

-Swap to a heightened Bruce Lee body
- Took out the middle layer of the hair and reattached it so it hangs longer than the bottom layer lengthening his hair
- gave him the scar
-re-tailored the sleeves so they fit nice and tight and were not so baggy
-gave him a new necklace strap (the one they included was a joke)
- ripped out all of the wires out of the coat except the bottom and the collar for a more natural hang and fit

Not much can be done about the wrong guitar but other than that I'm totally satisfied with this Crow!

Thanks guys!

No actually I cut the rubber off off the Bruce neck and removed the inner plug joint so it was flush with just the ball sticking out. Then I pulled the inner plug from a stock hot toys neck adapter(comes right out with a firm grip from needle nose pliers), removed the neck adapter off the draven head and then stuck the plug from the stock neck right into the hole of the Draven head.it fit right in with no fuss and then it gripped the ball on the Bruce body and the neck was the correct length too. His crewneck hides the seam perfectly and he has the ability to look more downward than the original neck or the Bruce body.

Looking good Ray. :clap
Yeah, that's what I did pretty much, gonna start on the hair next. BL body, extended legs and existing forearms.
Why not get rid of the Crow neck and using the BL rubber neck though? Seems a shame after all the work you put in. That's what I did and it's super posable? No problems at all looking down. It also eliminates the giraffe neck issue, the existing neck is too long IMO for any body. Looks ok with coat on though. Also if anyone wants the coat to look a lot better (with or without wire removal) pull it forward massively. The top shoulder seam should be at the front, this gives it a real 80's leather coat look. It moved all over the place in the movie but did have that baggy around the shoulders feel.

Here are some WIP pics. I think the colour is working pretty well for the hair (v.dark brown) but wasn't happy with the centre parting so I ripped it out and started again.. :lol

Yes, awesome job Rory! It shows just how good the actual sculpt is and the real hair makes it look incredible!!!:clap

I would definitely have preferred rooted hair for this.

But there's a bunch of whiners who say the hair will look bad.

It's so easy to style the hair to look great if they rooted it for you.

Re: Hot Toys The Crow petition

That is probably the single best 1/6 figure I've ever seen ....

looking forward to seeing your ''non smile'' sculpt rory, are you having it skin tone or makeup?.you could make a really nice casual Brandon in everyday gear
that would be very unique and would look great next to his dad..cant wait to see him.
