Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

yeah your right ,ill get over it lol ,anyway ,i still cant find my pliers so i thought id try supes with his dads boots on ,jor el has regular ankle pegs, ive tried to show the length difference by picturing 1 boot of each on supes ,and a sole to sole comparison ,that looks like a different scale when you compare the foot size ,not sure if it works ,you decide ,as a consequence of this i found out that the suit is held in place ,to stop it riding up and keep it taught and looking non baggy ,by a clear plastic ring on the bottom of the suit and ankle of the figure not sure the pic shows it ,but it is there ,sadly i also found out the stitching is so tight ,well it would have to be to fit so well ,that the stiches break easily ,well they did on mine anyway ,so please be careful if your going to try the peg switch

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

god the suit looks horrid compared to the reeves suit when you compare it like that , im unsure of the head sculpt either -- . I liked man of steel the movie , but this hot toys version just doesn't look right - maybe it looks better in hand

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

looking again at the last pic ,the one taken with the flash on ,man of steel supes proportions look a lot more like the prototype pics ,could the peg swap work for those who have problems with the height and those if any, who have problems with the bulk

The fig is great fun for posing. :D wouldn't mess around with the length of the legs too much cause his body is massive compared to any other body.

Nice did you repaint the black parts or do they just not look as black from a distance?

:lol

Ok, damn UK customs, you're too thorough!

Mine has passed customs and won't be taxed! :)

Now it's only 150 miles from me, and, theoretically, should be here tomorrow:pray:

...but I'm not so confident! At this time of the year, there are so many parcels that I can see the post guys delivering it late.

So if I'm lucky, tomorrow or Tuesday, if not.... Well after Christmas!:gah:

Hope yours arrives in time for Xmas. If it's cleared customs and it's on the way, I'd of thought you'd get him in time.

I expect mine will arrive by the end of the week. Hopefully. :lol

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

Man, that's really quite a difference in size.

Why would HT make new boots for Kal, when they could have just made the Jor-el boots in red? They could have also just used the same body and suit too.
If and when they do Zod, which pieces are they going to use for him? Jor-el's or Kal's? Either way, one is going to be out of scale with the others.

It's almost like they were going for 1/4 and then stopped midway.

Weird.

It's not just about the boots. Sure, ankle extenders are part of it but if it was solely just that, it would make him about as tall as the T800. The body for this looks to have a slightly longer torso (and maybe longer legs?) than the average TT which is also giving it the extra height. "Going for 1/4" is a bit of stretch...1/5 would be more like it

As for Zod. He won't have the same type I boots/feet as Superman and JorEl.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

I would argue, height aside, this is one of HT's better proportioned figures. They normally use hero proportions, which means shorter torsos. I for one am glad they made the body look human, even if it means its a little too tall. Skin tight suits emphasize the proportions and so they need to get them right.

Re: MMS200 - Man of Steel: Superman Collectible Figure

That's the beauty of things! You never know! :lol

Still, my best bets are on Tuesday!:)

Waiting impatiently for your always awesome pics!

Thanks :) Looks like he's going to be a very photogenic piece. Enjoying all the pics posted so far.

Well, saying 1/4 might be a bit of a stretch, but look at the length of the two boots together. It's not like the difference is off by a millimeter, it's has to be at least a quarter inch or more. That's a lot.

My point is, why make new ones at all? They were done already, they would just have to be made in red.

I saw the Jor-el body with just the suit and I think that would have worked. I don't know why they would redo it.

With Zod, I wasn't thinking about the armor, or how and if it comes off, but he does wear the same suit as Kal and Jor-el underneath. So which body would they use? Which suit? One of them is still going to be off.

It isn't like these characters are from different movies, they're all from the same film. Shouldn't there be consistancy in size and scale?
