To me the term expensive is mostly related to whether I need something and of course product quality and price category. But a collectible is luxory and I've got plenty of stuff to actually invest in, more work related or health related etc. and true the line by itself is very managable considering the low amount of releases. So yeah if you just collect these and nothing else I guess it's not really expensive. But still the amount of different stuff in general you can buy with 40,50,60 $ isn't nothing. It's not throw away amounts of money imo. Even if I were rich I'd consider what else is there to spend such money on? People who buy hot toys, I respect the commitement to your fandom, but geez I don't find collectibles worth that much, relative to other stuff.

So yeah having said that, I do consider this a prestige line. They're imo deluxe treatments for each character and so from that pov I think an emphasis on main characters (first) is nothing short of common sense. I still wager the majority of sales are from people who won't buy everything and will mostly buy main characters. Ergo it doesn't matter how you strategise release schedules, people who only wanna spend this money on a few favorites or maybe the core characters won't change their behavior.

So whether it's iconic for the series, marketable and finally fan favorited are imo the prorities to base releases on. However long the line continues after that just is what it is. That's my outlook on it.

Thats a fair way of seeing it, but thats why I mentioned the where you live aspect; im UK so I pay £40 for these figures, which is close to $80, and that isnt expensive in our economy; $40 is about £25 and I spend that just on transport in a week lol. Not saying I earn more, the conversion is just different.

I guess it's relative. I think spending over $12 for a figure is expensive. I showed someone these figures and I asked them how much they thought they cost, and they guessed $20. Once I told them the price, they asked if I was crazy! So far the retail price has been worth it, but I think they are very expensive. Even if I was rich I would think they were very expensive. They'd be more affordable though!

Nice, detolfs are a great, cheap way of displaying stuff, I have two of them. The only thing I dont like is how slim they are; im on the verge of buying a double size case just so I can have more dynamic displays lol.

That seems like a really cool idea, im too afraid of destroying my cases to try it though! (Got them secondhand so I dont know how to take it apart lol)

Need some advice DBZ fellow DBZ fans. I have found a local store that sells these figs. In stock they have Regular Vegeta and Super Saiyan Goku. If money was not an issue, I would pick up both. But since it is, which should I go with? I am bascially asking which one will cost me more if i wait and pick it up on the secondary market?

Well super saiyan Goku has already been reissued so this is the last time he will be available, but at the same time this is most likely the only saiyan saga Vegeta we will get, and he comes with alot more than Goku. At the end of the day, its all about your own preference.

I personally don't see Saiyan Saga Vegeta going for too much more honestly, considering that Cell has been out for long yet his price is still pretty solid. Vegeta has a lot of good stuff though, and I believe that's his main appeal. Goku though, as Deano said, will not be available again.
