Re: Why has DX 07 Luke Skywalker drop in value?

HT made too many and now the dealers who have still got shed loads are trying to get rid, simples. I was never interested in getting this fig & I got like all the DX figures so far. Luke Skywalker is not a cool character imo.

Re: Why has DX 07 Luke Skywalker drop in value?

IMO, it's one of Hot Toys best figures, and one of only a handful of Hot Toys figures at this time I care to own.

I also have DX12 TDK, DX05 Indy, Alice, Selina Kyle, Reeve Superman. And the 1/6 Tumbler. I have zero (or less) interest in 99% of everything else they've made. That said, I do want the Trainee Firefighter 2.0 (unlicensed) they did years back.

Re: Why has DX 07 Luke Skywalker drop in value?

Same thing happened with Joker 89. It's one of the reason's I haven't purchased him yet. He's very easy to get and at a fair price.

Re: Why has DX 07 Luke Skywalker drop in value?

I love the bespin Luke set. That and Keaton Batman are my favorites so far but there are several other figures that I think are great as well. Overall I think Luke is one of the best deals I have seen.

Re: Why has DX 07 Luke Skywalker drop in value?

Its more likely that all the retailers who bought these through Hot Toys/Sideshows official distributors paid a lot more for them than the grey market importers.

The UK r.r.p on this set was like £300 we were paying the same sort of price to buy this from Sideshow wholesale that dealers were selling it for in China.

We UK Sideshow dealers get a very bad deal on there products its hard to convince some one to pay more just because you bought it from your countries official distributor. We also end up waiting longer to receive product.

Still it is an amazing piece and great value for money just i'm still not a fan of PERS.

Re: Why has DX 07 Luke Skywalker drop in value?

I bought from a UK supplier simply because it worked out cheaper due to taxes on everything including shipping cost that gets added on anything from outside Europe. So at the time £225 I payed was a good price. It still is an excellent price, I have found one (1) place where I can get it to my door cheaper working in shipping and taxes. I guess I could get lucky with customs, but that's a one in twenty chance I reckon.

Re: Why has DX 07 Luke Skywalker drop in value?

As an example if I were to buy Bespin Luke from BBTS. I would pay $299 +$95.74 for shipping, totalling a whopping $394,74 and then on top of that get 25% added on the whole sum in local tax when my package enters the country. So the more expensive price (somewhat) locally doesn't sound that bad then.

I had 2 questions:

How much did this figure retail for?

Can the box be opened without breaking a seal or is it sealed up?

Retail was $299.99 through sideshow. Cheaper elsewhere.
Not sealed. Easily opened, removed, and put back.

All Hot Toys, Enterbay and most other high figures are collector friendly. Which basically means: no parts that need to be broken, torn etc. to remove the collectible. It can be removed and placed back into it's box as good as new.

Is there a 1/6 X-wing helmet that would fit Luke without it looking too big?

Also does anyone have a spare Jedi belt for sale (medi or SS)?
