With weta dollars it doesn't matter. Spend them anytime because the balance of what is left on the item you buy still collects weta dollars, so there is no need to save em. Sideshow on the other hand I try to save em so that I can buy an item close to where I get it for free. For ex if I use say $150 on a $900 Sauron sure I saved but now that's $700 balance that won't accrue points. Weta no matter what or how little you spend you accrue Weta dollars. No need to save em unless you don't shop at all really .

Why wouldn't you save them up to knock as much off an item as you can? If you can take a $250 statue, cut the price in half, and still get Weta Dollars that seems like a smart thing to me. :dunno

Because no matter what it totals the same. There is no extra economical savings by saving weta dollars. With sideshow there is economic savings if you save enough points to completely buy an item otherwise you lose points on the balance. Weta gives you maximum savings up front. No matter what I buy even if I use all my weta dollars I always find weta dollars in my account. Ex I have 50 weta dollars and use em for a Bofur. I now pay 200 instead of 250 . AND STILL GET 30 WETA DOLLARS IN MY ACCOUNT FROM THE 200 I Just spent. For Sideshow use your 200 dollars worth of points on say a 400 Pacific Rim piece. Your points will be at zero because SS gave you NOTHING ON THE EXTRA 200. Bottom line using weta dollars every time you buy is giving you the exact savings total as if you saved them up to buy something more expensive. Math.

That's one approach to using your weta dollars. I prefer the math of saving them up and knocking $100-$200 off something and having that particular item hit my CC less than other items. So that math works for me. Either way the numbers are the same in the end. I just choose which items I want to make more or less of an impact on the ole CC.

Just got the tape measure out to 'visualise' what this real burglar scarer will look like and .....:horror

Still giggling inside now in expectation :yess:

i think the only thing to worry about is if once they start cranking out the 1/6 scale pieces, is if they will change the reward points scale for gold members and offer less. i sure hope not.

Won't happen IMHO.

Did the same thing as I set up the collection room. He's going to eat up some major real estate. :lol

I doubt that happens. They know the system they have now really encourages buying more.

Here is why he is known as 'the defiler' :horror

Azog entered history in the year TA 2790 due to King Thrór's desire to revisit and perhaps restore the lost realm of Khazad-dûm. When Thror was found in the armories of Khazad-Dum he was brought before Azog being accused of thieving. He tortured Thrór for two days until he was informed of a second dwarf outside of Moria. He decided to kill Thrór after he defied him with the words "These are the Halls of Durin!" He beheaded Thrór and carved his name in Thror´s head, then threw Thrór's body over the stairs. Azog then called out to Nar, the other dwarf, from the gate, demanding that he deliver a message back to Thrór's people, warning that beggars who dared to enter Moria and attempted thievery would meet a similar fate.

Azog then called out that he had killed Thrór, and that he now ruled Moria as king. His name in runes was carved onto the brow of Thrór, forever branding his very name into the hearts of the Dwarves. Nár was barred from retrieving the head of Thrór, and the orcs threw him a small pouch of coins of little worth as a final gesture of scorn. Nár took the pouch, turned, and fled. When he looked back, Orcs had emerged from the Gate and were hacking apart Thrór's body and flinging the pieces as carrion for the ravens.

Azog meant no business there. Reading that moment so many times over the years is just cool and gruesome at the same time.

this will be my first piece from Weta, are they known for good paint and quality control ?

Yeah, Weta does a pretty darn fantastic job. They've have issues with a piece here and there. They will fix it though if you get one that has an issue.

I never knew he wore a skirt made out of skinned human (or dwarf) faces until the Gentle Giant statues at SDCC. Then I watched the movie again and sure enough you can clearly see the faces in the flashback scene where Thorin cuts off his arm. Hardcore.

I missed it multiple times myself. Before my 3rd or 4th viewing I saw a video that showed the digital making of Azog and caught this bit of info. Needless to say when I saw it the next time I looked for it and sure enough you can see it.
