I've been reading the first Red Sonja omnibus. The art is really good. The story started off a bit weak, but once they solidified the villain it has picked up a lot.

I'm following your lead beacuse I need to brush up on Red Sonja's lore before I completely buy into the statue. Sure the piece is killer but to justify the purchase I gotta like the character in some way or another.

I was pretty disappointed it wasn't Hellboy or Sonja. While the MJ statue is absolutely beautiful, I have no connection to the character.

No problem I am almost done with the first omnibus. I hear the second one switches artists and isn't as good though
