I've always liked Zack. He always seems like a genuinely nice guy. And even when I walked out of MOS the first time, underwhelmed, I still wanted it to be a success because I love the character and want to see the DC Film Universe take off.

All, whine posts posts, Bieber bull**** aside, this movie opened my eyes to understanding story telling, and how to effectively set up a scene. So that's good, I suppose.

Saw it.
Loved it.

Not close to The Dark Knight, (or Spiderman 2) but what is ?

Really liked the different take and feel as opposed to remaking the same thing again.

By the way, I just found out a PDF version of my Production Notes has been posted online:

https://www.visualhollywood.com/movies_2013/man_of_steel/notes.pdf

I think this is the first time I've actually been able to share something I've done with Freaks directly (usually it just makes its way into press kits and such). :rock

Well-done, sir! Enjoying the read (even if you did misspell "steel" on the cover page). :) Thanks for sharing this...I'm printing it out to supplement my copy of the "Man of Steel - Inside the Legendary World of Superman" book...

Yeah, what could be better than Tobey Maquire crying for 127 minutes?

Don't know if this has been posted, but man, did it make me laugh!

Just saw Superman: The Movie for the first time (I had seen II). That movie is seriously overrated. If released today, people would rip that movie apart. So few explanations for everything. He just swirls into his costume? He just found the fortress of solitude? He just "is" a reporter? I got tired of all the lapses pretty quick. MOS tended to over-explain everything which was always annoying in TDK trilogy but I'll take it over this. Then there was the flying scene with lois, so cheesy. Especially when we hear her thoughts lol. There were some good moments but OMG how could i forget when he turns back time. my goodness.

Also too much action in MOS: I loved the oil rig scene. The smallville fight was like a rollercoaster ride. I loved the scene under the world engine, I loved the parts with faora, loved the moments in Zod's fight with the laser vision and when the floor collapses under Supes, when he gets thrown through the buildings, the scene where he loses Zod and gets his through the building, when he uses his laser vision and the ending. What should they have taken out? I'm glad we got all of it.

He didn't just find the Fortress of Solitude in STM, he throws the green Kryptonian crystal into the ice/snow and that creates it.

Then again, how he'd know to do that is never really explained either...

Meh. I still love that movie.

I don't need everything and every motivation explained to me. Sometimes simple imagery and raw emotion works just as well, if not much better. Cinema is quite unique that way.

How can you not? Not even going to compare. The original film is fantastic. Those who want to pick it apart, are seriously jaded.

Ah I did not understand that. I thought it was kryptonite and I was confused that it didn't hurt him. I completely forgot about that
