Doing by genre is much more relevant. People tend to compare/ rank movies from different genres together and it doesn't make much sense. Actually pretty hard and time consuming to do it this way but just having one category and list for top 10 movies excludes quite a few worthy ones. Comedies and westerns more likely to be excluded from the top 10

I'm a list guy and I have been reading everyones... I find them interesting to compare contrast and think things like "good choice" and "What the hell is he thinking"

My point was more that when I think of my faves - across the spectrum, there's a relatively concise list that I can come up with.

I guess I can't really think of 10 from every category that I'd consider contenders.
