Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

@ cokebabies Didn't you sell most of your collection and got it down to 2 or 3 figures or something?
You bought this and Joker. Rebuilding?

Yeah, I got rid of almost all of it. I even sold off a couple Joker sculpts, planning on just having the 2.0. Bane was up in the air, pending in-hand looks. For now, I've got one figure in each shelf of a Detolf, and I think that will be it for a while. I don't need to necessarily keep it to four figures, but I just don't want a sprawling collection.

It's been tough, as there's been a few I've been eying (DX13).

Might need to grab a pair of those knee pads off you one day Ecko. I have a pair of DID pants coming that I need to dye first.

i dont know why peeps dont like the stock pants :huh i like the tight rockstar mercenary pants look :rock2:ted

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

I'm going to need baggy pants, I just know the stock one's are going to annoy the hell out of me.

I really want two Bane's so I can have one displayed in his coat and the other with just vest in the boss pose. So many Bane's needed, so little money *sigh*

If you're displaying with the coat, try pulling his pants down a bit so that they are sitting half way down his ***, pull them out of his boots a bit and just futz a little and the stock pants actually look pretty good like this (colour of them is still wrong though but it doesn't bother me).

Yup, you can futz the stock pants to look ood one the stock body. Mine were literally completely below his ***. :lol You couldn't tell because of the sash.

Can't futz them on the rubber body though. Futzing is a ***** on that body.

I did the same thing. I sold off over 2/3 of my collection (about 20 HT figures) and only hung on to a couple of favorites. Then I grabbed the DX11 Joker, DX12 Batman, and Bane. I've resisted the urge to pursue other lines, such as The Avengers. It's been difficult, but I'm actually very happy with a smaller collection. I really appreciate the key pieces I have, and the thinned out collection looks much better than the cluttered mess of figures I used to have. I only have a couple figures per shelf in a detolf, and I'm happy with that.

Personally, the less figures in a Detolf, the better. But having an idea in mind makes it easy to resist the tertiary characters who would be cool to have in theory, then when they arrive, I think, "Why?"

I've got Fett, How2Work's Mickey, and now Joker 2.0 and Bane. If I want another figure, I could move Mickey to my Disney section. But as of now, the only figure down the line I might be strongly interested in would be the new Vader.

What's ironic is the ridiculous amount of Iron Men / Avengers figures made it a cakewalk to avoid the entire line.

Haha, now that would look funny without the coat on! Have him squatting and he'd look like he's taking a dump :lol

Completely agree. I don't like the look of a detolf full of figures (no offense to anyone on here with a setup like that). I just think it looks cluttered and messy. I'm new to this hobby, but don't plan to buy much. Will only buy must-have, iconic characters from my favourite movies.

I currently have 1 figure per shelf, but only have 3 figures for now lol. The most I would go is 2 figures per shelf. It makes them look more like high-end collectibles when displayed this way, rather than just toys.

A smaller collection is better I think. Or at least a revolviong collection like mine. I think I have 25 figures but only 5 displayed. :lol I had more but I sold off all the variants of character namely Joker last year. I am getting the DX13 no doubt. I never use this word but that figure is a grail for me. I waited a long time for something of that caliber to come out of the BD T-800. I've kept it down to Batman, Terminator, Indy and Star Wars. Even that may sound like a lot but I am not a completist. Just the essentials from the franchises. I thought long and hard about selling off other figures and sticking only to one franchise but I can not forsake one for the other. I don't have any Marvel stuff which has been hard but I'm resolute in my not buying anything Avengers etc. The only one I would want, that no on really likes, is the Captain America Rescue uniform. I'd take that one over any other version. I love the WW II soldier get up rather than the hero costume. But I've avoided it. He'd stick out like a sore thumb anyway.

Are these boots taller than the ones you previously used? Something looks different with this Bane compared to your previous versions. The pants seem to sit a lot nicer. Not sure if it's better futzing, different boots, different pants or a combination of all 3 lol.
