Please ask if you get a chance if they will make they have the license to the suits from Iron Man 1-2 and Avengers? :monkey1

Agreed. At the price these things go for, I only need 1 1/4 IM, and the MARK III is still the definitive red and gold to me.

I'd love a MARK I too...that would be a bulky piece of real-estate on the shelf! :rock

Skullboy, do you know if PI will eventually release 1/6 Die-cast IM3 figs, or do they not have the licensing rights? My apologies if this has already been answered, but I'll be quite sad if Snapper doesn't get the 1/6 articulated treatment (damn Power Pose BS). Thanks! :elefant

It does say on there website, that they only have the licence only for 1/4 and 1/12 for Worldwide distribution :(

Why are they able to make the 1/6 Mark VII? Do they have the 1/6 licence for Avengers?

It's licence issues with Hot Toys as they have the licence for that here in the states for 1/6. They responded before on this matter stating that it's because of licence issues. Makes sense seeing as they can make it but they can't release the 1/6 mark VII here in the states so they made it Singapore only, where's they got the licence for 1/4 and 1/12 because HT or another company doesn't currently have it so there's no conflict with that matter.

I doubt these will be out this year- we'll see. They are rough prototypes but they look fantastic.
Additional detailing and better paint needed-hopefully they will do alot of fixing.
Must be impressive and very heavy...very very excited.
HT will counter with more and more IMs reveals

So does that mean HT can't sell their 1/6 Avengers in Singapore?

They can...so it probably isn't exclusively Hot Toy's license for Singapore...although PI only has the Mark VII and I don't think they are going for the full Avengers line

I know absolutely nothing when it comes to licences like this. But it wouldn't make sense for PI to have the licence to make only Mark VII and sell it only in Singapore.

That depends. Hot Toys may have a worldwide license for 1:6 scale Iron Man figures, which would mean that PI would have to get permission from Hot Toys to produce and sell this product. Hot Toys could therefore limit PI's production and sale to just Singapore as part of the agreement.

why would HT give a chance to their competitor?

Bravo to PI for their communications. I sent them a few FB questions and all were honestly replied to in less than 24 hours.

Here is the conversation

Mike:
Hi,
Can I ask why the 1/6 Mark VII is only available in Singapore? Will you be making any other 1/6 Iron Man or Avengers?
Thanks

Play Imaginative
Hi Mike, our license for 1/6 scale Iron Man is only limited to Singapore.
For now we will be concentrating on suits from the Iron Man 3 movie, in 1/4 and 1/12 scale.
If you're looking for 1/6 scale, we will have DC characters from the New 52 Justice League - first up is Superman and Green Lantern.

Mike
Cool. Thanks for the speedy response

Play Imaginative
No problem! :)

Mike
Sorry. 1 more question. I know nothing about licenses, so are you able to make other 1/6 Iron Man figures for Singapore? Like Mark 1 or Mark 3 or even from Iron Man 3?

Play Imaginative
hmmm i think we will be focusing on the new suits in Iron Man 3, so right now it looks unlikely we will be doing the older suits..
for Iron Man 3, we will only be producing 1/4 and 1/12 scale

I have to admit, its great to get some answers. It is disappointing that they won't be making any other 1/6 Iron Man figures. Maybe I'll check out their 1/6 DC Figures.

I placed the order on the Mark VII PI on BBTS.
I'm waiting for that Mark 42 1/4 ti become available in the US with a reputable distributor. If I had a friend abroad, I would've not thought twice on paying the pre-order. I've also communicated with Jackie at PI in regards to the 1/4 figures. If I hear anything solid, I'll post it on here as well.

I still may be tempted to try to nab a Raw Mark VII when it comes out, IF I don't have to sell a kidney to get it.
