It does look amazing. But for $600+, its not for the average collector. Fluffy and Pennywise are probably my 2 most wanted 1/6 figures. But I couldn't and wouldn't pay that kind of money for them. Thats just me though. And that why I really hope SHS comes through.

No, it's your comment that's irrelevant. Whether Dooley makes a Fluffy or not, it's his legal right to do so. Beto has no legal right to make more than a single custom piece. So it's well within Dooley's rights as the license holder to shut Beto down from doing a first or even second run (which he was planning to do). And saying they're two different markets is fairly ignorant given they're both aiming at 1:6 collectors.

Well I can tell there are a few things you don't get. Like "ownership infringement" laws. Whether a company produces a likeness or not they have the right to enforce that ownership.

Do you see many 1:6 Dexter figures floating around from Triad? No? Funny that they (with the help of Showtime's lawyers) were still able to issue a cease and desist order, eh. Despite the fact they have produced... nothing.

So yeah. One of us definitely doesn't get something but I think you should perhaps look inward for the answer to that conundrum instead of making presumptions about others that are waaaaay beyond you. :wave

I remember when this debate over customs vs. licensed started. I hated it then and now. Because it was divisive among collectors. Just because I couldnt spell Beto's name and said betawhatsisname in a post, I was labeled a hater. Camps mentality.

I want to support a licensed figure (IE SHS), but if it doesnt happen....I, too, am not big enough of a fan to lay out that much moolah for "Fluffy" or "Nate". I have 2 kids to put through school, so "Fluffy" (or any figure)at that price will have to wait until I am d.i.n.k. (double income, no kids).:peace

Year. I wish I had the skills that some of these customizers have. Very talented.

But if 5, or 10 or 20 custom figures were made for as specific character, that is totally meaningless to most collectors. And not only for the price. But because there aren't enough to go around.

So again, good for those who have the skills, but give the masses a product that if reasonably priced and all have a chance to own.:pray:

I can't wait untill Dooley send the update at the end of the week.

I'm simply pointing out your wanton need to troll can be about something that's actually on topic, vs. a topic that was inappropriate the first time you tried to troll it, and is still just as inappropriate now. Your immediate response to Kain was discrediting his request. Perhaps you should be a bit more observant of his request (subtle for STOP IT!), given he's a moderator for this section.

Honestly, it's kind of pathetic when I'm forced to post in a thread that I came in to check for updates, because a small handful of fanboys feel compelled to shake their pompoms and inappropriately troll a thread and then attempt to justify said trolling because of a business handicap as if that somehow justifies the trolling and illegal infringement. If you'll have a gander at my post history, you'll see I don't even post much anymore, so when I do, you know that there's a problem.

I wonder if Dooley jump the shark when he priced Nathan at $100. Looking at the figure and what Hot toys 1/6th sell for or any 1/6th figure....you would think this should cost $200 or more. China must have miss quoted him and now wants more money....probably putting SHS in the red. If that's the case I would pay more to get this show on the road. :dunno

I had never seen Betos version of Fluffy...just seen a review on you tube and WOW....that thing looks perfect....going to be hard to top that.
