Just wondering, how many people received a defective Aayla Secura PF? It will be interesting to see the number. Also, how many think that the Darth Maglus will suffer from the same faulty construction?

Mine needs a new base :monkey1 malgus better not be like this. I'm sure he will be good except for the same issues with the light saber. I hate this new light saber technology. :monkey1

my aayla came perfect. no problems here. no problems with the saber as well. and lets not try to jinx the malgus please. it'll be fine.

I recently purchased her from a private 3rd party on Ebay, new in box. Plugged it in and the lightsaber was amazing IMO. Didn't know they had gone with a new technology. Very impressed with the brightness. The next morning, I noticed the blade was no longer lit. I wiggled things around to no avail. After reading forums about issues with the arm and foot connections, I tried a little rubbing alcohol. Still nothing. At that point, I figured I may have a bad power cord. I emailed Sideshow whether they would be willing to exchange one or at least direct me to another source. While waiting on an answer, I played around with it some more. Remembered that I had other power cords, tried it out. Still nothing. Used my suspected bad cord on Obi-Wan and his sword lit bright. Plugged in some batteries in the battery compartment and "bam", bright light. Fiddled around some more with the connector and depending on the angle I press the cord in, I can get Aayla's saber to light. So long story to say, I'm pretty confident that I have a bad connector in the base. I actually prefer to plug in the figures as opposed to using batteries. So bummed about the problem. I waiting on Sideshow whether or not they would repair or replace my base since I bought it private third party. I'm not holding my breath. I've got a dremel to see if I could effect a repair but would prefer to have it professionally done. Need to find out where I could find a new connector, Radio Shack? Also would need to figure out how and what to pour into the base to secure the new connector. I'm sure there are some smart people out there and happy to hear feedback.
Thanks!

My item arrived with a broken leg :( I will receive my replacement statue today. So crossing fingers that everything will be perfect this time.

Unless you're very lucky, the answer will be no. I bought an "imperfect" Aayla from a retailer (the lightsaber didn't work). Knowing all these problems - and fixes - I decided to buy it as it was a bargain price. Sadly, the reason the lightsaber didn't work is because it was snapped internally in two places.

I also dropped Sideshow an email to see if I could actually buy a replacement (not exchange or refund). The reply was...confusing. They never seemed to acknowledge I had asked them a direct question and suggested that I returned it to the retailer.

Bit gutted but at least I can still display Aayla without any noticable breakages. Still hoping someone has a spare and looks on the WTB board.

Not confusing at all, SS manages customers by account, every customer asks for service through his account in SS, in your case, you should approach to SS by the account of your LCS. Without the account SS can't talk to you.

No dice. :(

"I am sorry; we do not have a repair facility here."

We'll see how good my skills are.
