Got it from HLJ. Amiami is on 'back order' and I didn't want to risk it. I have a feeling they have underproduced this figure.

I lived in LSpa for 4 years and loved it. I worked at George Eliot hospital in Nuneaton for a few months. I'm now living in Bath.

My gf is a nurse at George Eliot! Small world :)

Where is the cheapest, most reliable place to order this from atm? OMG's pics have me in a tizzy. :panic:

Ordered C-3PO. Just ordered the Snowtrooper and Eweb. I still want the HT Bespin Luke plus another Snowtrooper. My poor wallet... oh well... eating is over rated anyways :rotfl

Seeing the final product the way it turned out with the shiny finish, it looks to be the definitive Threepio.

And if it is, then Sideshow has made a huge mistake in how it's handling this release.

If this is indeed the only 1/6 version of Threepio we'll ever see, directly or indirectly from Sideshow, then they needed to "sell" it better. They needed to go all out with the advertising. They needed to come into this thread and answer the questions head-on on whether this is an official Sideshow figure and not just a sub-license. Or at least have an official statement clarifying this. We all have some doubts about whether we will or won't see another release from Sideshow down the line, and I'm pretty sure they know this. After all, they teased about doing a 1/6 Threepio for years! If this is it for Threepio, they need to be up front about it. Otherwise, they risk people (like me) holding out for a future "official" Sideshow release of Threepio, and they miss out on my purchase.

However, if this is not the one and only official Sideshow Threepio, then they need to say this as well. And they are also sabotaging their future Threepio release. This Bandai figure is great, and no-one is going to want an inferior version if Sideshow doesn't pull off a home run with their version. They would have to not only match how good this Bandai figure is, but improve on it and have tons of accessories, while still coming in at a lower price point.

I'm just trying to rationalize not buying this. :(

Seriously though, will any of you guys who just dropped $350-$400 on this beautiful figure buy a future Sideshow version? If not, would there be anything in that future release that could sway you to buy a second Threepio made of plastic?

This is the dilemma I was having at the weekend. Then, having seen OMG's pics and a few YouTube reviews, I realised that whether SS releases their own 3PO is irrelevant. This piece looks so perfect that it is a work of art, and it's almost 100% metal. I can't see a SS version getting anywhere near this. This IS the definitive 3PO.

No. I only need one 3PO. I simply can't see how SS can match, let alone improve on this. I suppose some Freaks may be tempted by a realistically weathered version, but not me.

I can't see myself picking up an alternative version.

But a Sideshow version would never match this anyway ?

Maybe they will release their own version in 2 years time. It'll be a $200 figure and will be of a nice quality .....but you'll forever wish you had purchased this masterpiece instead.

So just buy it.

Honestly, the way i see it, if SS can't even get the 1:1 version right, the 1:4 version right, there is no way they will get their 1:6 version like this Tamashi version. The fact that this is made from a company the specializes in metal figures put this over the edge and SS will probably be $100-$150 cheaper if that. Granted it will come with more but it will consist of mainly plastic. Your call, but i'm gettin this Fa Sho!
