Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

yep, the pf dropped to around $600 cheapest for a while but then came back up in price with a vengeance, they are actually rarer than comiquette now.

I have seen both up close and definitely like the pf more, even though i prefer all sculpt on most statues, there is just something artificial and fake about a fully sculpted spiderman cloth especially considering ss did a pretty bad job with the lines on the sculpted cloth and no wrinkle/shadow.

The pf skin-tight spandex is so nice with the rubber spidey symbol on the back and flows naturally into the sculpted shoulder/feet with perfect painted lines, it brings a smile to my face everytime i see this statue despite the simplicity of it compared to the other pieces.

They need to bring this type of quality back, imagine how good the baroness pf would looked using the same type of spandex.

Ah the good ol days...don't think we'll be seeing that attention to detail any time soon

I really miss Jbinny...:monkey2

I still have all the WIP shots he sent me of computer fly's Cap PF conversion into a custom fully sculpted piece. I don't have the heart to delete them. He was so excited. Like a little kid sharing a secret with me. We shared a real passion for fully sculpted pieces. Every time I see those old PMs, I'm reminded of him.

Yeah IL, he is missed and fondly remembered by those that were lucky enough to know him.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Man I really envy u fellow members who own either of these. I got into collecting really late for fully sculpted pieces and am paying for it literally. I'm not big on 1/4 scale due to the price and size mainly. But the Spidey trio I have to have in my collection. One day I hope to own one of these no matter the cost. :slap I'm a HUGE Spidey fan would you fellow members who have either say it IS worth the aftermarket price to get either?

I had no idea. He did have some really cool statues. My condolences to anyone who knew him.

Well, anyone who owns one says they are spectacular and must be seen in person. So... that being said, anything is "worth" it when you justify it somehow. As someone stated on here once before that these things are attainable if you just save up your pennies. They aren't completely out of reach. You just need discipline. I myself want one if nothing better comes down the pike but there are so many good things coming out right now with the DC license that I need to pace myself. Meantime something else may come at some point. But to me its worth it just not right now.

I can't imagine life without my Spidey EX Comm, especially adorned with HIS almighty signature!

So yeah, it's a must have!

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

I thought Stan lees signature looked better than that? He's coming to our convention in April. What should I get him to sign?

His "S" is usually bigger and shape like an "8", but I imagine signing all day on 3D objects can produce great variations.

unless i misread you, but it wont be a very fun hobby if you plan to collect sideshow statues mainly at <1/4 scale. Trust me once you have a few 1/4 the smaller stuff(with a few exceptions) will just pale in comparison.

If you are starting now, i would say focus on 1/4, rather get a few less quantity wise than a shelf full of <1/4 stuff.

Unless that card has some kind of holographic sticker on it. It could easily be reproduced.

Not call the sig' a fake, but I think you get my point.
