Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

if he can catch him ~ but yeah, this is kinda how i see it going, which makes me glad it was never going to happen.

joker: you wanna know how i got these scars?

bane (caving in his skull with one punch): get out of my face, you little gnat.

I was thinking more...

Joker: You want to know how I got these scars?
Bane: Like this.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

So I was looking at the Predator Dutch figure and it looks like they used some type of rubber for the arms which eliminates visible joints and the arms look good. Wondering why HT didn't use that with Bane or even Hawkeye for that matter. Was there some issue with those arms?

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

He's already short on accessories... wish Hot Toys would just step up and give us two arms without any joints/articulation that can do the boss pose. That would easily be the best accessory possible for Bane.

probably the rubber would deteriorate and rip over time

Which is why I worry about Hulk and Ada Wong. I've heard horror stories of deteriorating and cracking rubber joints. I just got Hawkeye and he looks great to me so I don't mind that Bane has exposed joints.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

i'd rather have exposed, articulate joints than rubber i'd be worried about ruining.

every time i pick up baby doll, her squishy body still just weirds me out and i worry about how she will hold up in the long run.

Exactly this. I was almost worried that HT would go for the rubber route for Bane, but am very thankful they didn't. While I get why people like the rubber arms, I just don't get how people can still like them given how rubber is known to deteriorate over time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but has HT truly perfected the use of rubber for their figures? If I want a completely seamless rendition of a character, I'd get a statue instead. If I can't even pose my figures because I don't want their arms to get "tired" then what the hell was the point of getting a figure that could move anyway? I can understand if people buy such figures for the character, or the novelty of owning the figure, or maybe even because they just display their figures standing, but on a basic principle of buying articulated figures it's something that baffles me as to why companies insist on it.

I can live with joints like Bane's stock arms even if it sacrifices a fully "natural" feel, at least the single ball-joint makes for a smooth-looking figure without going overboard. It's certainly better than being constantly worried over something that might crack or break in the years to come.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

This figure has solid plastic arms?, good..less chance of the shirt staining but, is the torso still a rubber sheath?.

Indeed, if anyone can't stand their DX 12 like Mag was saying, they can send it to me.

Fo' free.

I received mine today and it is absolutely amazing! It looks far superior when you have it in-hand. I can't decide whether to display it with the coat on, so many choices!!!

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

The Legend jacket fits pretty well with a bit of tweaking. When I get the chance I will do a full weathering, mod job..

That looks really great Rory. What jacket is that?
I always thought I'd display Bane with just the vest, but seeing all these pics I think he looks equally good with the jumper or the coat. And now this jacket too.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure

Wow that really does fit well. Nice job Rory.

Wow, that jacket really complements the figure, Rorywan! :clap

anyway, it's a bit funny that a headsculpt that's mostly obscured by a non-removable mask seems to be among the most life-like sculpts done by HT so far. If anything, HT nailed the eyes, where our eyes would most likely focus given that it's the focal point of the sculpt.

Kinda like the fact that the most accurate Arnie sculpt so far is half-robot :)

Mine's still in the box waiting to be futzed. Darn deadlines.

A bit like the face plates on the '89 Keaton BATMAN head. They're the only bit that is actual 'face'.

Re: Hot Toys – MMS183 - The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Collectible Figure
