Sideshow supplied distributors before direct customers for a short time once, which was annoying and made no sense. I could understand with EB if some of these dealers were more convenient to supply direct from the factory rather than ship to wherever direct customer order stock goes out from and from there to dealers.

In scourig over stills and photos from T2 compari g to this figure and getting excited, I believe more than ever, Stan Winston was a talent like no other that probably deserves even more recognition than he gets. Other than the eye. and even that only jumps out at certain angles, it takes an effort to realize the Endo is makeup over Arnie's face, I can't believe what he pulled off and it's a shame that CGI has taken over because artists with such a skill will fade away. As much as CGI artists need skills, I think something like the T-800 makeup inspires more awe at what was achieved because you really have to be creative and skilled to figure out how to do that.

Absolutely.
Can't believe he died so soon. What he could've done for the fx genre with current standards...would be even more tremendous then what he already did.

Especially when you think about how hard he had it to prove himself.

I'm always in awe when I watch T1 & 2 how much the fx of those movies were far, FAR beyond there time and...kinda like the old animated TF Movie, continue to outclass several things from the same genre...

Man, I don't want to ignite a fanboy war here, but I just dropped in at the DX 13 thread after a long absence, and you can really see the inaccuracies in that figure after looking at this one for so long. While i like the semi-BD head, the full BD is just, kinda bad imo. It looks so soft, or something? idk I can't put my finger on it. But I also noticed the tear on the right arm jacket sleeve and I really dont think that was there. Lastly, the knee drives me nuts, the pants were never that "open" there.

I still don't think it's a bad piece per say, but I'm just thankful that I was able to order the 1/4. Yuo can just see that sometimes bigger is better, and the larger canvas contributes to HT being trumped in a few instances. Adding tears where there isn't is just laziness, or not paying attention. Had there been no other option, I'd be singing a different tune admittedly :p

Yeah I agree. While Im still getting the DX13 for my 1:6 collection, its not as good as this one. HT still has time to fix any issues, but still Im not too upset over it since I will have this one as well. This for full on battle damage and the DX13 for the half Battle Damage in the "Hero" Pose. Both figures will do their jobs for me in my collection. Im so glad I can finally put a lid on my T2 collection this year. After these two I really dont see me wanting anything else.

Maulfan, I don't know if you have the book The Winston Effect but it is also a great book that has many photos from the T2 movie that show the many makeup effects that Stan used in the movie. He was a great pioneer and will never be forgotten.

I got that and I love those pictures and also the prototype pics of the T-800.

I mean...even the IDEA...to put actual gum on the endo, for the bridge of endo and teeth. I kinda love that concept...

There shouldn't be any feuds, if it's a matter of taste, then you can make a case for either figure but if you're going to discuss being faithful to the film, it's not even a question that EB is currently ahead and anyone fighting otherwise is either looking to start an argument or is arguing without knowing anything about the movie. They also can't wrap their heads around the idea that fans will want to talk about all products and will compare similar items just to share their thoughts, as I do, but have no intention of trying to "sell" one to people or prove the one they like most is better.

If someone prefers DX13 I don't care, and I've chosen EB and have no intention to get DX13 but I still like being in discussion about it because I love T2 and especially the BD T-800 and I've dreamed of these figures for nearly a decade so I have a lot of feelings and thoughts to express, and so long as I do so in a civil manner I should be able to do so, but too many here have an attitude that if you don't share te popular opinion you're not welcome.

In that last pic of all the T2 stuff I can just hear the BD talking like Arnie.

Wutz diz toy bull****, I'm alive azzhole.
