Ordered my ex yesterday. I was expecting a summer release date but it is April :rock Twilight WK in March, Frodo and Sam in April, I wonder if we'll get anything else before 2013 ends?

Don't plan too much since it's all going to get shuffled around most likely.

Is it a foregone conclusion that there will be no other Frodo or Sam statues?

The simple truth is no one outside of Sideshow can answer that question. And unfortunately, I imagine even they would have a hard time answering this question in a concrere manner at this time as there are many business-related considerations that would have to be addressed prior to Sideshow giving the green light to another Sam/Frodo maquette project. First and foremost of these would be the financial success of this maquette, and Sideshow's overall satisfaction of the LOTR maquette line as a whole. Secondly, I think much of what happens in regard to Sideshow's direction where the maquette line is concerned will be tied to the success of The Hobbit. If these movies are hugely popular and it creates a resurgence in LOTR popularity I'm sure Sideshow will do everything possible to "ride the wave" as long as possible.

Now it should be noted that Sideshow in one of their Q&A's dated Jan 14th 2011 did acknowledge the possibility of another incarnation of Aragorn somewhere down the road, though they certainly did not 100% guarantee it. That said, another version of Sam and Frodo is always a possiblity no matter how unlikely.

I don't want any doubles. There's allways anyone who doesn't like Sideshow's choice for the outfit. Not released characters are allways the better choice IMO.

unfortunately i am pretty sure no new hobbits will be made besides the merry&pippin maquette.

It's all about money, the lotr good guys pf and dio sold very poorly, ss will not waste resources making those statues especially hobbits. For maquette they just made sam & frodo, so highly doubt they will make another version of it. Also the lotr maquette really isnt flying off the shelves either compared to other popular licenses, they barely get the ex soldout at 500 es.

all i want is them to finish merry & pippin in maquette format, then all is forgiven.

Don't say that gagaliya. :(

I'm still hopeful of picking up Frodo and/or Sam in Hobbit gear (in this line) one day. :wink1:

You don't consider the Mount Doom diorama in Hobbit gear? If not, what pose would you like them to be?

Sideshow may not have too many choices left when it came to their maquette line, as they already created the Mount Doom diorama.

As for Merry and Pippin, definitely they need to be in Hobbit gear, and I anticipate Sideshow may do them while sitting on a brick wall at Isengard for their maquette line. That, or a second lesser choice would be while on top of Treebeard.

Just buy the old SSW Sam and Bill the Pony, buy SSW Frodo and putem together....

The GG 1/6 busts were quite good...removable Helmets, not bad likenesses plus both had weapons

The other Sam/Frodo Dio...L/E of only 300 although Frodo looks kinda drowsy...LOL
