I'm surprised they are not doing it. Maybe because it's sort of got a flop feeling to it. The comic is great and westerners know that but as far as its history of cinema it has a forgettable and terrible mid 90s Stallone flick and this flick starrs a nobody like Carl urban

The property is not strong enough to not be carried by a star actor. At least Stallone was a star.

I do think the movie looks ok, not stellar but ok. If its at Leat half decent in reviews I'll plan to see it.

Please do this now Hot Toys! :clap

^ ^ THIS x 1000!! :lecture :exactly:

Dredd's one of my all time faves. The new suit looks excellent - & for my money, the film looks really good.
Regardless of the film's success either way, it'll translate into one killer figure.

Yeah.. I wasn't thrilled when I found out Urban was cast in the lead, but he looks good on screen so far, & as long as he doesn't take the helmet off, it'll be a step in the right direction anyway. The forced grimace, & fake gritty voice will annoy the **** out of me though I imagine.. :lol

Anyway - yes, HT need to do this one - NEED to.

:lecture:exactly: The majority of movie-goers don't know who Karl urban is.

Judge Dredd has such a large cult following. I'm sure a figure would sell well if done well. 3A has the 2000 AD licence, may be they'll release a Dredd some time soon. Probably won't be the movie version but a comic version IMO would actually be even cooler.

ThreeA will be making a judge dredd 1/6th figure, which is probably why hot toys cannot. The 3A one will be more comic influenced (early strips) than exact film replica, but thats what the film one is based on anyway (with extra bits). I admit though, it would be nice to have both and I'd go for both lol. The film is great too, don't know what the glub feeling mentioned before is about, probably to do with all the adverts calling it dredd '3d' pfft.

Also I visited HK a few months ago and mentioned Judge Dredd to your typical HK comic/manga nerd and he was like '??????' so maybe thats part of it too haha

edit: also to post above me, word on the 3a forums from a mod in contact with ash wood is, Judge Dredd pre-order before the year is out (Hammerstein too!)

"Before the year is out" means mid 2013 in ThreeA language :lol

They'll make it worth it - everybody suspects a lawmaster after the good job they did on ghost horse/blind cowboy

I gotta admit this movie looks like it may be a crapfest...but either way this really would be a badass figure!

@RF don't forget Urban's character in the Chronicles of Riddick:lecture

...Dredd is and would be a very typical license for Hot Toys to tackle, and do very well.

Do it HT do it now (mid-2014:monkey4)
