Welcome to most new collectors on this forum.

People seem to think because others want it they should have it, even though they don't know the source.

It's messed up. I am super nostalgic for the Burton Batman films and they are two of my favorite movies of all time. There was never a doubt in my mind I was going to get these, but I did have to do a double take when ordering them because $500 for toys no matter how cool they are is pretty nuts. I can not even fathom why someone would spend that kind of coin on a movie they never saw or didn't really like.

Had you ever seen it before you bought the figures ? Seems pretty insane to drop $500 + on two figures for a movie you have no attatchment to. At least these guys are popular enough you should be able to get your money back.

Oh god yes, ofcource!! I grew up watching this movie!! But when I saw it yesterday, I just didn't feel as strongly about it.

Sad to see people branding you as a newbie and armature beacuse of something like this. You don't know how long I've been collecting?.. (not ment for the person I quoted. ment for a later post)

True but very rarely will the age or quality of a movie retract from the impact it had when you first saw it. That's like saying I won't buy the brilliant Christopher Reeve figure because Superman has terrible effects, shocking acting and an iffy plot.

Some figures are just cool to have as a symbol of your child hood and represent the point in time of movie's you grew up in. No matter how much you like Batman, anyone from that era not loving Jack Nicholson as the joker in collectors toy form is a bit mental if you ask me. :rotfl

...people branding you as a newbie...

I get that part just fine. I had exactly the same thing when I was at about 500-600 posts. People labelling me as a newb :rotfl I've been collecting figures on and off since 2004!

As for selling, no I don't get that bit, but still it's up to you. I just had a quick scout on the 'bay and they look to be at around £160 ($250) from the reasonable sellers, to £320 ($501!) from the insane sellers! So you should need to work too hard to break even.

It's nice to be able to say that about some HTs for once.

:lectureI think the "newb" thing comes from two places..

1: Nam.
2: I guess after a while on these boards you see the same questions being asked over and over, and comments from newer members which seem quite "eeeuuggh" not that again! That's not necessarily their fault though.
So I think the term, when used correctly refers not to your experience collecting on the whole but your experience of these boards. But everyone is in the same boat at some stage!

Personally, I think when someone uses the term "newb" it's more a sign of their own fatigue and over use of the forum than anything else.

Newbish rant over.

I just watched the '89 movie and realized that, I don't really like it :dunno:.

So I decided to sell both the DX08 and DX09. If anybody is interested, send me a PM

i think all this comes cause someone so atached to this film, and so nostalgic about it, can't understand how you can do something like what have you done :panic:
anyway, if you have no atachement to the film or the characters anymore, sell them, and buy something you like :yess:

I hadn't watched the movie in a while when these figures were revealed. When I watched it again and realized that after all these years I still think the movie is awesome, I preordered. Returns didn't hold up so well for me, so I'll be passing on those figures.

Still my favorite figure to photograph and pose. Can't pick a pose I like the best. When I had him on PO all I wanted to do was put him in the overcoat but he looks so good in the tux that I've kept him in that. Plus the suit is to nice to cover up. Such a bummer others had to get a refund because of QC issues.

its an amazing figure to play with :yess:
he have so many nice poses and accesories that you can't decide how to put him. I like more the tux too, for the same reason you say, you can't cover all those wonderfull clothes.

What were the QC issue's? I've not picked him up yet but will.

Yeah, but there is some sort of QC issue with all figures to some degree. Some people had uneven lapels and what appeared to be dried glued spots on the jacket. Most boardies are fine though and couldn't be happier. It shouldn't stop you from getting this guy. :)

Some fellows have bad PERS, clothes, articulations, but nothing to far away from other Hot Toys figures... It's just the tipical QC from HT, I mean, is a shame that in a $200 figure this happens, but... what can you do...:monkey2
any way, just get this guy, it's amazing!

Does this figure really need the white undercloth which bulks everything up? I'm planning to kitbash this figure for cheap and was wondering whther it really is neccessary.

It's up to you really. The white undercloth is to help match Nicholson's figure since he's wasn't slim nor muscular. Speaking of which does anyone have pics of Joker in full costume without the undercloth? That may help you with your decision.

BTW Just received him this evening and just having a huge fanboy moment right now!

I believe someone around here did just that, removed the fat suit and displayed him that way.And I believe they posted pictures too, which looked good. Hopefully they will see this and post em again.
