Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

Just put the finishing touches to a custom Justice Lords Superman figure for my Brother's birthday.
I thought people who are subscribed to this thread might be interested in the results.

You did an incredible job. I love Justice Lords Superman and you hit the nail on the head. He looks like he's ready to lobotomize Doomsday and fill Arkham with Superman androids. Prepare President Luthor for the weenie roast!

Thanks!
My Brother is a big fan of that look too.
I have ordered a white bodysuit from an Ebay seller and i am going to see about doing him in a one piece white suit with black S symbol next(Not sure what cape colour will be suitable).
Just an idea i had.
I am interested in other looks than the traditional blue suit. I know it's iconic, but i prefer the striking symbolism of the Reeve head with different costumes we haven't seen before.

I just picked this up. Man it's so awesome, I can't stop looking at it, I just want him to talk to me. :rotfl

Had a few problems with the base though. The ice/glass crystals seem to be a strange fit. I had to shave a few mil on a couple and one is a little too small. I may have to just stick a little blue tack on the bottom. No big deal though.

Fill your kitchen sink with boiling water(Well, not FILLED, just above the height of the crystal mounting holes) and sit the base in there.
Leave it for five minutes and have the crystals ready. When you take it out, the crystals will pop right in. Make sure you don't scald yourself obviously...
When they are properly seated, run the entire thing under the cold tap and it will harden.
Just dab it dry or leave it in the side to dry off naturally.

A fellow Scot!

Thanks very much, I'll give that a bash. It's not bad, It's just not snug.

A blow dryer on the holes of the base will do the trick as well. Just heat them a bit & the crystals pop right in.

A little heat on the base will do it.
I prefer to make it hot with boiling water as it uniformly expands the entire thing.
And once the parts are in place it's like they are WELDED in place.
But putting them in hot water again will allow them to be removed easily enough.
And yeah. Scotland. I am in Glenrothes.

Nice! Thanks for your help.

Originally Dundee but moved to OZ :)

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I used the blow dryer trick on mine and it worked pretty good. I like the hot water ideal but I'd be afraid that water would get inside the base and then you'll get water slushing around inside and leaking all the time if you don't get it all out.

If you do do the hot water trick be careful with it.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

HT should be making a Clark, Zod, and a new black suit Jor-el. Not all this batshyyt!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS152 - Superman: 1/6th scale Superman Collectible Figure

I love Bats and Supes as much as the next guy, and I know it's because Bats is hot right now, It's just that I come on this board and every single thread, From top to bottom, Is about Batman with the two Superman threads, That pops up occasionally, As the exception. Like I said, I love the Batman and Superman figures as much as anybody but there is only so much you can say about them before you start repeating yourself.

I just wish HT or SS would make other DC figures so we can have something else to talk about around here. :gah:
