I pre-ordered this thru gentle giant collector's club to help guarantee me one. I was hesitant , but I love the movie Pan's labyrinth. I am very much a collector of horror movies and their collectibles. I paid 225 subtotal + 16.13 for shipping to CO. I have received #195 out of 300.
The magor thing I did not like about ordering this was there wasn't any information on the net about size. Well, fellow freaks it is about roughly 1/4 scale maybe 1/5? It stands 17 inches tall from the base. The base is about 3/4 an inch for a total height of 17 and 3/4in.
The thing is creepy and I rather enjoy it. Its not quite the scale of my other premium formats but its close and doesn't seem out of place at all.
Its hard to say cause in the movie he seemed taller but it could just be relative to the little girl Ofelia and camerawork.
I really like the sculpt. There is no question of who this is....if you've seen the movie. A lot of people have not and probably should. Its a horror movie with soul. ....a dark fairy tale set during a war.
The one major thing I do no like is it's really hard to get the feet into the base. I had to pull on the legs and felt like I was going to break it.
The paint is pretty well done, the eye in his hand is creepy. I like the veins in the arms and head. I like how dark his figertips are (like they should be). The details are there.
I think the base could be better as well as a little more texture in the skin. The detail's just look right to me and I recommend him to anyone who is a fan of the movie in the slightest.
8/10.
If the height of each base were equal, he'd be about as tall as a premium format Ash
