Re: HOT TOYS : The Dark Knight Rises - 1/4th scale Batman Collectible Figure

What HT does is show a teaser or two then a full reveal a week later. EB shows 80 teasers for a few years before the reveal.

I simply see those images as WIP shots and personally i dont complain with people posting WIP images of custom figures they're working on.

based on that thigh tho, HT has a finished DKR 1/4 figure ready...so why not show it? Is a thigh really going to make people think twice about buying the enterbay release?

Re: HOT TOYS : The Dark Knight Rises - 1/4th scale Batman Collectible Figure

They are showing it mate. Friday in fact. His reveal is coming by way of ani-com.

Re: HOT TOYS : The Dark Knight Rises - 1/4th scale Batman Collectible Figure

"Granted some have been pointless..."

What makes a thigh any more impactfull then enterbays torso reveal? :dunno

All i'm saying, is HT should have shown more if they wanted a real counter to EBs reveal. As it is it isnt impressing anyone...

guess your new to hot toys they reveal a teaser and a week later they do a full reveal in this case a thigh is more impressive then a blurry pic of bale its 2012 and we are still getting blurry pics .

But they have blatantly released this image to counter enterbays full reveal...but it's a rubbish counter. A full figure reveal could have actually achieved something. Made me think twice about buying the enterbay figure. But a thigh? Whether it belongs to batman or not, simple does not have that power. :lol

:lol:lol enterbay is new when it comes to batman therefore much more to prove with 80 teasers... and then hot toys releases only two teasers and people are going bat ____ over it .

Re: HOT TOYS : The Dark Knight Rises - 1/4th scale Batman Collectible Figure

Can't wait till Friday...any guesses on release? 1st Qtr 2013???

Re: HOT TOYS : The Dark Knight Rises - 1/4th scale Batman Collectible Figure

HT and Enterbay do teasers in very different ways

Enterbay: numerous (sometimes frustrating) teasers over a long span of time, then the official suite of pics and specs, and shortly after the figure will release.

Hot Toys - After a long span of time without a word, one or two teasers, then the official suite of pics and specs, and then another long span of time before the figure actually releases.

Pick which you prefer.

Re: HOT TOYS : The Dark Knight Rises - 1/4th scale Batman Collectible Figure

My hopes for this figure:
-Interchangable faces
-PERS
-Bruce Wayne head
-Empty cowl
-Backpack
-Metal accessories
-more accuracy than the DX 12
-LED lit sonar cowl

Of those, I think that well get the metal accessories, the Wayne head, the multiple faces, and the higher accuracy. I really, really hope that we get PERS and an empty cowl. I know that the others are long-shots, but if they're going to include things like the sticky bomb gun, it'd be cool if they just went all out and included his Hong Kong/final battle gear as well. If they really wanted to get ambitious, they could include another cowled head with the smashed in mask.

I prefer HT's method. In the end, you wait equally as long, but HT's method is more professional, it's more customer friendly (I.e. You have an estimate of when it's coming, and when you need to have funds ready), and it seems more efficient. Enterbay is just too unpredictable.

:goodpost:

I prefer EB's method at least that way you get information or pictures as opposed to nothing.

Re: HOT TOYS : The Dark Knight Rises - 1/4th scale Batman Collectible Figure

Both are kinda crappy, but enterbays keeps me interested while i wait, just like a good WIP thread. And then when i see propper pictures i know it'll be up for sale within a month.

HT you avoid the WIP images, but have glossy proto images, but then have to wait a frustrating amount of time in complete silence and then the figure is randomly released. Take the jake sully figure. That was shown AGES ago, back when i was actually excited by the prospect of a 1/6 avatar figure, then it randomly released to asolutely no fanfare by which point i was so over wanting the figure i didnt even bother with it.

They both have pro's and cons. But i do like seeing stuff over a long span of time. But that's probably due to my gaming side. Developers do the same. Announce a game, release screenshots every other month, the odd video, launch trailer. Release. Perfect.

Damn, too much stuff & not enough $money$. Things are getting rough. It's great being a Batman fan right now, just need more CASH.

Bill has said for the last few releases (Rambo, MIB, BL Bruce Lee Statue and now the 1/4 TDK Figs) when they will go up for PO. So I don't see how that's any different. you should have you money ready by now (end of July) like Bill has said for the TDK figures

Now saying that HT give you more time to have that money ready is different. Bill lets you know a couple months in Advanced maybe but HT drags it out for at least 4-6 months so you have plenty of time to save if that's what you intend to do. I know many colectors get bored with waiting and buy something else in the mean time. Like Plasmid said, pick which you prefer. me, I don't really care :lol if I 'miss out' then i figure that emans I didn't really need it and no harm done. there will always be something else down the road

Re: HOT TOYS : The Dark Knight Rises - 1/4th scale Batman Collectible Figure

That's the thing about HT, though, is that you really aren't waiting for anything other than for the product to ship. Generally, we won't have any clue what's coming until they reveal a teaser, and the specs and pics one to two weeks later.

Bane comes to mind :lol

Yeah, about two weeks before the thing is on it's way. That's not the way to do business. I don't know about you, but I like to have a bit more than two weeks notice when I'm having to gather up large sums of money. With HT, they get all of the information out there, they tell you when to expect it by, and they give you a few months to gather your funds. Even when products are delayed, they still give you an estimate of when to expect them by.

Re: HOT TOYS : The Dark Knight Rises - 1/4th scale Batman Collectible Figure

I think I'll shoot for this guy over the Enterbay...although I do like them both, i think this will have the quality edge. the thought of a 1/4 catwoman is just too good. can. not. wait. so frustrating to have the money for this, and to have to wait sooo long...

There's three stages

  1. Waiting from Announcement to first teaser
  2. Waiting from Teaser to Pre-Order
  3. Waiting from Pre-Order to Shipping
