Mine came with it's own shipper. The only time that I received an item direct from SS that wasn't in it's own shipper was when I had multiple pieces in one large plain shipping carton.

Ok thanks for the info I always prefer having the brown shipper when possible. Just to keep the boxes all save and protected while they are stored.

Seems ridiculous, doesn't it Wor-Gar? At this point it would be more logical to cut out the middleman (AE) now that the process has been initiated through the proper channels. It would make most sense for you now to send the figure directly to Sideshow and for Sideshow to send the replacement directly to you. But, you know, red tape and all.

This is from josh at AE...

"None of the Boba Fetts came in a brown shipper; every_piece_we_received was just in the bag inside the case. Most Sideshow figures don't come in brown shippers (the last one I remember off the top of my head was the Gamorrean Guard). If you have any questions, please let me know.

Josh Young"

My 89 Batman came with a broken wrist guard and a scratch on the bat signal. They sent me new ones of both within a week after I emailed off pics. Didn't even ask me to send either of the pieces back to them. In fact they did they same thing with my DX Indiana jones because his hair didn't line up properly. Again just sent me a new one without asking me to return the old. So you might be in luck with regards to the vest. You might get 2 shots at altering it!

Yeah, but that's the process. SS can't be responsible once they are removed from the sales process. It's understandable. But the post below gives me hope that AE will make this swift and painless...

Thanks for the hopeful post. That eases my nerves about this. I hate returns and have never had to send a full fig back. Hope they really do just send a replacement part. I don't need two vests really, just rather not have to wait on a full figure to come back to me that is potentially worse than this one.

Man, Wor-Gar, really sorry to hear about your Boba!

Thanks. Appreciate the sympathy. :) It was more aggravating last night after all the excitement of the arrival. I'm fresher about it this morning, and more hopeful it will be fixed without a real hassle. I hope.

Here's the unfutzed straight from the box, and all I see if that little hole. That and one leg is much longer than the other. Damn OCD!

I must say, I have been fairly forgiving to SS over the years on out-of-the-box stuff... but this one just seems to have no end of probems. I see sloppy paint in many spots, the lopsided legs, the holes in the vest -- which, in hand, your eyes just jump to -- the pouches on the belt seem set too far back based on the belt separation they are meant to cover... again, I think I got a real lemon. Never had such a feeling of "got to send this back" before.

Maybe I'm overreacting because this is FETT! He's supposed to look sloppy, right? I mean, he is really weathered looking. On the plus side, my antennae thingy on the helmet is straight.

For what it's worth I've been kind of having a similar feelings - so you're not alone. I was giving my figure a good once over last night. I purchased directly from Sideshow and have had it for a week unable to decide exactly how I feel.

The left leg on mine is a bit shorter as well. I thought it was just an issue with the boots not being on all the way or the hip alignment, but even after redoing the gear I have yet to figure out the cause. Also his left knee won't bend properly (or stay bent) for anything. Feels like a rubber bendy figure.

No vest holes on mine, but there is some sloppy paint on the right wrist gauntlet - the black is pretty sloppy on the edging where it meets the white.

There are so many good shots of Fett in this thread, but so far I haven't been able to get my figure up to par.

That's weird my Boba Fett from SSC came in a brown shipper and was wrapped in a plastic bag with bubble wrap.
I've never has a figure ship from them NOT come in a brown shipper.
That's just odd, maybe because AE is a store, they get theirs in bulk and no shippers?

Yes, I have that issue too. I'd say glad I'm not alone but in this case... :)

You can also see on mine on the belt there looks to be an area where the leather pouches are supposed to be glued to cover the second band of material, but it is exposed. On both sides of the belt. Just looks unfinished, like there's a missing pouch on either side. I've checked pictures from others and its fairly inconsistent but generally at least one side is covered correctly if not both.

Not sure if I can "tear" the pouches off and reglue. I haven't really given this a hard look after last night but I guess I should.

All I know is, on mine, QC is really bad overall for $175 figure.

wow, maybe was agood thing i had to give him up ,did any one get agood one?

The fact that another thread was created called "Boba Fett Customizations/Modifications: Image Thread" to catalog all the mods to make this figure right should tell you all you need to know. And now people have started to switch it over to a different body (hot toys Slim $50) because it looks so much better. :dunno

Yeah, if you're buying from a Sideshow distributor, you're not going to get the shipper because they're buying them from SS in a case of two or three, so Sideshow sends them all in one box. If you buy from Sideshow direct, you'll get a shipper supposing it's mailed individually. I'm assuming for a multi-figure order they'd box it all up together to save on shipping.

I wouldnt say though that means this is a bad figure. In my opinion from pictures it is one of the best SSC has done so far. Ya there will be a few problems here and there but the modification thread is mainly because people need there figure to be just right.....also a few things are a little wrong with it but only minor things.

Not necessarily. I got my Boba direct from Sideshow, without anything else in the shipment, and it did not have a brown shipper.

Kinda sucks that people that got this are having so many problems, sorry to hear that guys.

Im glad i waited to decide on this,,normally i just jump in on ordering, but think i dodged a bullet on this by waiting.

I just do not get this frame of mind I guess. There are some major ssues with this figure...the fact alone we have to perform major mods to get him right just boggles my mind. These are not, need to tuck a shirt in here or bring up his pants here futzes, these are QC, switch stuff out, and having to actually cut plastic stuff out type of issues, with one of SS most expensive figures....:gah:

I don't see the big deal with a little work to make a great figure into an awesome figure. I know a lot of people have been saying that "I shouldn't have to do anything to a $175.00 figure" but I have yet to get a $300+ PF figure that hasn't needed some work out of the box to look right.

It's really a great figure. And yes, the vest looks pretty bad straight out of the box, it's true. But with such an easy mod, the figure can look fantastic. Sure, ideally any mod at all should not be necessary. But it really is a very simple mod, and to refuse to buy the figure just for the vest thing is like throwing the baby out with the bath water, IMO. Of course if you have more issues than just the vest, then I can't help you there.

Swapping the bodies is just extra gravy, as far as I'm concerned. I think he looks pretty great with the body he comes with, has tight joints, and can achieve great poses.

I agree it's not a bad figure, with fixes it's a really good figure. It's really about for the price you pay you shouldn't have to do these fixes. I REALLY hope they take the fixes done here and incorporate them into the next Fett figure. A lot of free product development done here for SS, great mods done by everyone who got this figure. :clap

Not sure I understand. So Sideshow didn't mail Boba in a brown shipper? Or the shipping box itself didn't have the product details on the side?

Have to say, I find the amount of conversation based on the shipping box or lack thereof perplexing (don't know why anyone would want the shipper, especially from a distributor... Doesn't even make sense that they would pass that on to the end consumer, IMO). I was really hoping that the conversation on that could be closed, but looks like I just lengthened it. :lol
